Over the years since I started this blog, I've experimented with color more and more, but I'll always have a soft spot for black, black, and more black clothing. Recently obsessed with all things distressed denim, I love this ripped pair with a basic tee and an of-the-moment cape. (Psst! This one is under $25.) I've always been more of a gold gal, but my newest accessory has me thinking silver. And now I officially need every piece in this post. #OnlineShoppingProblems doesn't even begin to cover it... xoxo Get the Look!

These are a few years old, but every time I wear them, Eric comments that they're his favorites. And that's reason enough for me to keep them around for a few more years. Here's hoping your coffee is strong and your Monday is short.

This year my style resolution is to stop overthinking things and just wear what feels right. (Life always turns out better that way, right?) I'm not saying that I want to live in sweats or look like a slob kabob (well, not most of the time), but I want to break the rules a little, mix more prints and high-low pieces, and maybe borrow a bit from the boys. Who says you can't dress up a flannel men's button-down with skinnies and heels? Yep, this one's from the men's department, and I may have to order it in more colors. It's SO soft and adds a little bit of slouch to an otherwise sleek look. And while we're on the subject of borrowing, these faux leather pants were found in the juniors department (something I am definitely not), and they're a great substitution for your basic denim skinnies. Top it all off with a classic pair of leopard heels for a little contrast and fun. (c/o) Athleta pants, tank, sweatshirt; Nike sneakers Well, we're officially a full week into the new year, so how are those New Year's "get fit" resolutions working out? Finally having a fitness routine after several years of, well, not, I'm excited to see where this year will take me, and I've got plenty of fresh gear to get me excited about working out. I stopped into Athleta this week to check out their newest collection, and you guys, it's so good. Bright colors, softest fabrics, throw-back styles, and so many pieces to take you from the gym through the rest of your day in a snap. If your own workout wardrobe could use a little help, join me today at Athleta at Fashion Island from noon to 3:00 to "Refresh, Revive, Remix" your fit style. I swear, it'll give you that little boost you need to get moving this new year. Hope to see you there today! xoxo SheInside dress; Zara clutch (similar here) and scarf (similar); Urban Outfitters socks; BCBGeneration heels via Marshalls; Boera ring; Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in '69' If there ever was a most used and over-abused piece in my closet (besides the one too many blanket scarves I never take off), it would definitely be this slouchy t-shirt dress (last seen here) from SheInside. Whether dressed up with over the knee boots or oxfords or worn casual with combat boots, it's the one thing I wanted to wear all day everyday this past holiday season. (And I'm going to pretend that's not because I could eat a dozen cookies unnoticed in this thing.) When your favorite piece of clothing costs about 15 bucks, the only reasonable thing to do is stock up on a couple of extras and throw in the grey version for good measure. Crazy? Maybe. Smooth sailing until spring? Definitely. xoxo With the new year come lots of new changes, resolutions, and routines, but my current morning routine is here to stay. (At least for now.) This Alchimie Forever cream is my numero uno, favorite product of the moment, and I swear it calms my skin and feels amazing. The bareMinerals Foundation has been part of my routine for about eight years, but the primer and under-eye concealer are recent additions that I now use daily. I usually bounce back and forth from bronzer to blush, so this all-in-one compact from Urban Decay is perfect. I swipe across all three colors for a shimmery glow. When I'm in a rush, the Sin Eyeshadow Primer can stand alone without any shadow on top, but when I have a bit of time, I always add a little something from a NAKED palette. (And really, I don't discriminate. ALL of the Naked palettes are amazing.) Finally, I add a few swipes of this mascara and fill in my brows with this amazing pen from Hi-Brow. But hey, it's a new year and a fresh start, and I suppose that's something worth celebrating, right? Also the discovery that a favorite fur vest can double as the perfectly oversized infinity scarf by sticking your head through both arm holes. Small victories. So I guess it's time to cheer up and dive into 2015. Here's to a spankin' new year and many small victories ahead.
