In part two of our Labor Day weekend preparation, we figured there is no better excuse to squeeze in a few last beach days before fall. A solid string bikini is timeless and can be mixed and matched for many summers to come. Cover up with a chic high-low maxi tank dress, and protect eyes with classic shades. Studded sandals and bohemian accessories add a personalized touch to any beach look, and a large, carry-everything tote will easily fit all your beach essentials. xoxo P.S. Labor Day weekend is fast approaching, and what better way to celebrate than with a BBQ with friends and family? Stay cool and comfortable all day long in a lightweight ruffled romper and easy accessories. T-strap espadrilles dress the look up, but if backyard games ensue, kick off your wedges and show the boys how it's done. Here's wishing everyone a happy (and stylish) Labor Day. xoxo P.S. Danielle Stevens Three Monogram Bracelet Set $74 7. Steve Madden Marvilis Wedge $90 Dear Diary, I have a fashion dilemma! My BF got me these (red patent leather) shoes (below). I have no idea what to wear with them! Do you have any outfit ideas? I'm afraid of styling them in a way that makes them look like a) clown shoes or b) bowling shoes. Please help! - Mel Deal Mel, These can certainly be difficult shoes to style into an outfit, but think simple and take a cue from Sienna Miller and the countless other stylish celebrities who have been seen in similar oxford shoes. Styled with a striped skirt and basic tank, your overall look will be downtown edgy (instead of clown college or bowling league ready). Since your shoes are so bright, stick with neutral colors for the rest of your outfit to really make the red leather pop. Add tough jewelry and a holds-everything handbag, and you're ready for whatever the day brings. For more ideas, check out today's Inspiration. Hope this helps! xoxo 1. Jaclyn Racerback Tank $16 3. K. Amato Shaped Wood Bangle $33 Dear Diary, I'm a freelance music journalist in LA, and this weekend I'll be filming on-camera interviews with bands at a music festival. Do you have any suggestions for something that looks great on camera AND would be comfortable to wear all afternoon and into the evening? At South by Southwest this year I went with navy linen capris, a charcoal gray racerback tank, and turquoise jewelry: practical, but boring. I'd love to hear your suggestions and of course, report back with what I ended up wearing! - Laurel Kathleen Dear Laurel, Sounds like a pretty cool job! Outfits for music festivals (or any occasion with little to no rules in dressing) are our absolute favorites, but dressing for an on-camera interview can be tricky. If you're going to wear a print, try to keep the pattern large and worn away from your face (like the skirt above for instance). This loose-fitting tank will drape effortlessly over the skirt and support the laidback, music festival vibe. An easy peachy boyfriend blazer ties the look together but can easily be removed if you get too warm off-camera. Opt for jewelry that will stay in place during interviews (hence, none of our beloved bangles) and studded flat booties that won't slow you down. Not really feeling the look above? Below are a couple of previous posts that we feel could be great for this weekend. - A Little Bit Rock-N-Roll - Bohemian Summer - Tribal Shorts Here's hoping you enjoy the festival, and we can't wait to see pictures of the look you choose! xoxo P.S. DV by Dolce Vita Bronco Bootie $89 Dear Diary, I really want a trendy black mini skirt to wear for the fall season, but I'm having trouble finding one I really like. Also, what are some different ways I can wear my mini once I find it? Thanks for all of your help! - Stephanie Dear Stephanie, A well-made black mini, when chosen wisely, is both timeless and season-less and will always be a great addition to any wardrobe. My absolute favorite mini for fall is the above version from Riller & Fount because it resembles a dress or shirt tail peeking out from under an oversized comfy sweater. I can't wait to wear this look with over-the-knee socks and shearling lined booties. For a more traditional fall approach, wear your mini with tights and either flats or tall boots for a classic, chic look. Keep accessories fun: DYING for the fur-embellished bag above or even just a cute fur bag charm like the one here. For more black mini skirt options, see the additional four below. Dear Diary, Any idea where I can find a great pastel dress with straps? It can be any type of straps, but it needs to have straps. I'm looking to spend around $150 or less. Can you help? - Laura Dear Laura, Great pastel dresses are everywhere, but finding one that's right for your body is key. Above are a few of our favorite picks from Revolve Clothing. Whether you prefer spaghetti straps or enough coverage to hide a bra, (we think) we've got you covered. Whatever the occasion, we hope you have a blast! xoxo Our Top Picks4. G-Star Belted Dress in Dark Wave $130 7. Sauce Jumper Dress in Floral $74 Dear Diary, This Friday I'm going to a country concert and am wondering how to look cute without going too country. Also, I will be standing on a grass field with everyone, so I have to wear something that can get a little muddy. Any ideas? - Caroline Dear Caroline, If you have your heart set on a more country feel, we recommend this classic denim cut-offs and boots look from yesterday, but with country music now edgier than ever, there's no reason you can't be "a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll." Trade in classic relaxed country blues for a skinny pair with an edgy wax finish or even a pair of faux leather leggings. A loose, ultra-soft tee and studded ankle booties are perfect for a laidback concert vibe, and vintage-inspired silver accessories pull the whole look together. xoxo P.S.
