Does casual Friday leave you a little clueless? (Trust us, this is not an excuse to roll out of bed and show up in your pajamas. Just saying.) Choose a chic and classic jersey shift (ahem, t-shirt dress) in a great heathered navy and add menswear-inspired loafers, a bold handbag and smart, interesting jewelry (dying for this mixed metals bracelet). Stick to fool-proof basics, and you'll be the queen of the carpool...commander of the cubicle...the most stylish girl on your commute. (Even if you commute alone. In your own car. It's guaranteed actually.) At the very least, you'll be comfortable and ready to take on your weekend. xoxo 4. Angled Red Satchel $68 5. BDG Fringe Loafer $39 6. Clutched Amethyst Necklace $32 7. Dear Diary, I'm currently a college student at the University of Michigan, and I just got these great combat boots I'd been wanting for a while. They're Steve Madden "Troopa" style in natural leather. Now that I've gotten them, I need some new ways to wear them! As a college student, I'd like to get as much use out of them as I can: looks for going to class, for dates, for nights out, or for casual group studying at my favorite coffee shop. Any inspiration you have on new ways to wear them would be appreciated!! - Jaime Dear Jaime, Combat boots are definitely a great fall investment that can transform so many outfits. Balance their toughness by keeping the rest of your look ultra-soft and classic: buttery corduroys (in a great of-the-moment wine hue), a basic modal blend tee, plush faux fur, a blush colored handbag and easy gold accessories. When pairing your new boots with shorts or a dress (see below), try lacing them about halfway up and folding the rest of the leather down. Also, give your boots a new twist by pairing them with over-the-knee socks (either scrunched down or pulled all the way up for added warmth) in a dark hue. Whatever you choose to wear with them, one thing is certain: boots like these will last season after season and only get better with time. xoxo Get the Look!3. BB Dakota Janika Fur Vest $99 4. Paired with a neutral tank and dolman cardigan, these shorts are perfect for testing out the carnival rides, tasting the fair food and dancing to the local bands. Add comfortable oxfords, a fringe bucket bag (a hands-free bag is key) and low-key gold jewelry for an easy bohemian feel. Worn with cuffed denim shorts, a bright satchel, over-the-knee socks and oxford heels, the dolman sleeve sweater has a classic preppy feel. Muted gold jewelry provides a chic final touch. Tall Suede Boots $40 As the first chill of fall is upon us (Or am I just imagining it? Probably.), sometimes you just want to wear soft and comfortable knit layers. Whether you're celebrating date night with your main squeeze or your closest girlfriends, a floral body-conscious skirt paired with a lightweight, off-the-shoulder sweater fits the bill perfectly. A loose scarf and lace-up booties add to the laidback vibe, while gold jewelry and an unexpected blue handbag polish off the look. Wherever the night leads, you'll be (or at least look like) one of the coolest girls in the room. xoxo Get the Look!5. K. Amato Union Cuff $44 6. The Limited Status Mini Bag $27 7. In the fall (or any other season really), there's something so simple and chic about dressing head to toe in shades of grey and black. This Riller & Fount tunic is definitely one of my favorites and is a go-to when I'm in a rush. (As well as the other four colors in my wardrobe, but we'll talk about my closet problems later.) Two-tone wedges add interest to the ensemble, while a blue chain-strap handbag scares the drab away. Oh, and it doesn't hurt to have a pretty nice sunset in the background, right?
xoxo If you work in a professional environment, transitioning from the office to your casual after-work plans can be tricky at best. (Do you rush home to change? Do you change at work and try the awkward sneak out? We know, it's a tough-y.) Lightweight and comfortable, this striped sweater dress easily blurs the line between work clothes and play clothes and works well under a black blazer if your office boasts a, well, stuffy vibe. A ladylike chain strap handbag balances out tough platforms (with a certain Parisian flare, no?), and a stretch belt accentuates curves. When the workday is done, pile on edgy accessories and remove the blazer for a look that will feel brand new. (We're obsessed with the idea of wearing these antler rings side by side on the same hand and love that the bracelet plays off of the studs on the shoes.) A quick fluff of your hair and a spritz of perfume, and you're ready to go. Office...What office? xoxo Get the Look!1. Color Block Stripe Dress $61 5. Penny Loves Kenny Tetra Pump $90 9. Segmented Elastic Waist Belt $27 Dear Diary, I will be going to a wedding this month, and I'd love style and color ideas. The wedding will be early in the day and held indoors. It is actually my first time attending a wedding, so I need help! - Monica Dear Monica, Wedding attire, just like weddings themselves, can vary greatly, from barefoot beach looks to black-tie ball gowns. If you are unclear of the dress code, it's best to stick with a well-tailored silk dress in a solid, fall-friendly color. Nude pumps like the classic square-toed pair above elongate legs and will complement the sleek look of the dress (not to mention the rest of your fall wardrobe). A feather clutch adds interest, while gold earrings, a cut-out cuff and statements rings up the understated glamour. We hope this helps, and hey, if you need a plus one, you know where to find us. xoxo Get the Look!4 More Dresses to Love:For more ideas, see the four styles below from British retailer Miss Selfridge, part of the uber-popular Topshop family.
