heartLoom Shorts, Brandy & Melville Tee, Heartloom Cardigan, Beirn Handbag, Bamboo Booties, Alex & Ani Bangles,Vita Fede Bracelet, Henri Bendel Bracelet, Michael Kors Watch Last night we watched the sunset in LA between two buildings overgrown with greenery. In the shade, the dusk air was JUST chilly enough to warrant a lightweight cardigan and suede booties, and I took full advantage. The floral shorts have become one of my warm weather staples, and the embroidered tee by Brandy Melville is made from the absolute softest jersey material. Check out today's Inspiration for a view of the sunset from the roof. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Planning a Girls' Night Out this weekend? Shake things up with a fall twist on the LBD: leather! Featuring faux leather panels in the front and back and stretch jersey on both sides, this chic little black dress is figure-flattering and head-turning. Add a punch of color with berry-hued suede pumps, and keep accessories low-key for a minimalist look. (We're especially loving the contrast of this menswear-inspired watch with the femme fatale feel of the dress.) Now the only question is, "Where to?" xoxo Get the Look!4. Guess Osten Pump in Purple Suede $100 Whether you're planning an afternoon get-together with friends or just want to run errands in style, this off-the-shoulder floral dress is subdued and perfectly-hued for fall but still light and airy enough for the warm September weather. Suede peep-toe wedges and an oversized mustard tote complete the look for a chic (nonchalantly) pulled-together appeal, while delicate gold jewelry is the perfect cherry on top. xoxo P.S. Luichiny Buckle Up Wedge $90 Dear Diary, I'm going to the Big Apple at the end of the month for vacation and want to dress stylishly. What are some outfit ideas that are cute and weather appropriate? - Stephanie Dear Stephanie, It sounds like you've picked a great time of year to visit New York: although the weather can always be unpredictable, the next few weeks should be just right. Keep your luggage to a minimum by packing chic layering basics. Skinny jeans, denim cut-offs, a dressy tank, a classic pocket tee and a black jersey dress can all be mixed, matched and worn in so many different ways, and a boyfriend blazer and pullover sweater are perfect for chilly restaurants or theaters. When choosing shoes, remember to think comfort, and allow room for only a pair or two of heels. Keep accessories simple so they can be worn interchangeably for any outing. For outfit ideas on how to combine the pieces above, see the 8 keys looks below. Hope this helps! xoxo Get the Look!4. Kain Classic Pocket Tee $83 6. Topshop Boyfriend Blazer $130 7. Faux Leather Messenger $20 Fall has arrived, but here in Los Angeles, it still feels like summer. We figured what better way to beat the Monday blues than with a pair of fun and flirty fringe shorts? Paired with a basic tank and cardigan (push the sleeves up), these grey shorts are perfect for cocktail hour, dinner and dancing, or whatever your weekend plans will entail. (Actually, we'd make plans just to wear these shorts.) Dark teal platforms, a grey messenger and tough silver jewelry pull the look together for a great fall feel despite the warm weather. xoxo P.S. Jessica Simpson Pai Platform $100 Naven Faux Leather Hot Shorts, American Apparel blouse, Carlos by Carlos Santana Wedges, Deena & Ozzy clutch, vintage necklace, Michael Kors Watch, Amrita Singh bangles, Mikuti Project charity bangles, K. Amato Wood Bangle, Yosi Samra Flats (Not pictured) Last night I attended Fashion's Night Out at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. Nicole Richie, Randy Jackson and Teen Vogue's Lisa Love were on hand to kick off the night's fashion show festivities. Champagne was poured, hors d'oeuvres were served, credit cards were swiped and all was right in the retail world. Similar to yesterday's post, I chose faux leather shorts, a semi-sheer blouse, gold-embellished accessories and wedges for a fun and flirty look. (Although I must admit that halfway through the night I ditched the wedges for the Yosi Samra flats that I stashed in my clutch. Seriously. They fold up into a tiny satin bag.) As the night came to a close, I couldn't have been happier to slouch into my couch with a glass of wine for some online shopping. Wait a minute...
Hope everyone else had a great Fashion's Night Out! xoxo That's right, Fashion's Night Out is finally here, and there's no better time to stylishly go all out. Admittedly, I've been planning this night for weeks, and in my outfit preparations, I've made quite the mess of my closet several times. Above is a look that I'd love to be rocking tonight if only I could find the pieces in the previously mentioned closet disaster, but this is about you, not me. A silk blouse tucked into leather (or faux leather) shorts reads simple sophistication when kept in a black and white color palette, but sky-high heels, a bold blue clutch and mounds of jewelry throw this look slightly over the top (in the best way possible, of course) for an overall luxe effect. If you haven't planned your night yet, head over to the FNO website to find the fashion-friendly festivities near you. xoxo P.S. Check out today's Inspiration! Get the Look!7. Teen Wolf Claw Ring $10 Dear Diary, This weekend I will be meeting my boyfriend's parents for the first time, and I really want to make a good impression. My typical style includes tons of jeans and t-shirts, but I'd like to dress up a little more than usual. We will be going to dinner at a nice restaurant, but it isn't too formal. Can you give any outfit advice? - Jessie Dear Jessie, Meeting the parents can be stressful, so planning your outfit ahead of time (and trying not to over-think it) is definitely the way to go. If you are most comfortable in jeans, go for it, but opt for a sleek black skinny pair for a more dressed-up feel. (These by Cheap Monday are only $65!) Next, a silk tie-neck top is perfect for further dressing up your denim and can be worn into the fall by pairing it with a leather jacket or blazer. A simple pair of heels will elevate the look, but choose lady-like flats if you don't feel comfortable walking in heels. Classic accessories will add the final touch without going overboard. No matter what you choose to wear, make sure you are confident and comfortable in your choices so you can relax and be yourself. We hope this helps! xoxo P.S. Check out today's Inspiration! Semiprecious Stackable Ring $30 If your weekend leaves you aching for a simmer-down Sunday, choose soft fabrics and chic silhouettes for loungewear that is just as stylish as it is comfortable. Ditch your played-out sweats in favor of a simple racerback tank and lace-trimmed shorts or an easy maxi dress. A cozy dolman sweater and plush throw are perfect for chilly fall days, and moccasin boots or casual sandals will easily take your lounge look from the couch to the streets. Now sit back, relax and enjoy that Jersey Shore marathon in style. xoxo P.S. See today's Inspiration! Get the Look!1. Chiffon Trim Racerback Tank $13 6. Kashwere Blanket $150 8. This lightweight jersey maxi skirt paired with a loose black tee and silk scarf was perfect for both the HOT Louisiana weather and the freezing airplane. Black wedges, assorted bracelets and my mom's vintage red messenger bag completed the look. xoxo Get the Look!3. Chinese Laundry Guess What Wedges $90 5. Rachel Leigh Snakeskin Stud Bangle $75 7.
