Today is the last day to shop the Shopbop Friends & Family sale (I shared over on Facebook earlier this week), and if you haven't checked it out yet, I highly recommend. Using code "FAMILY25" at checkout, you can take 25% off site-wide (with a few designer brand exclusions). It's the perfect time to stock up on fall essentials and maybe even get a head start on your holiday shopping. At 25% off, you can finally pull the trigger on those pieces you've been eying. Above are a few of the finds currently crowding my shopping cart. Happy shopping!

AG Adriano Goldschmied skirt (c/o) Piperlime; Piperlime Collection sweater (c/o); Forever 21 tee (old); Loeffler Randall clutch; H&M necklace and bracelet; bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Live Large I've been a fan of Piperlime for quite a while now, and my love of the brand took on a whole new level when I happened upon their SOHO store during a visit to New York. (It's now a must-stop anytime I'm in New York.) I just find their selection to be so expertly curated and packed with my favorite brands as well as a few in-house finds. Recently Piperlime has launched its very first Piperlime Collection, and it is SO good. From this mixed metals mini (hello, holiday) to the perfect cool-girl moto jacket to the easiest little shirtdress, the well-priced pieces are packing my current wishlist. Today I'm taking their Mixed Stitch Sweater for a little fall test run, and it's something that's right up my alley. While it's cozy enough to pair with my favorite sweats for a day curled up on the couch, it's perfect for pulling together a coated pencil skirt and tee combo. Strappy sandals, statement jewelry, and a contrasting handbag (that I'm LOVING) make for easy, wearable #MomentsofChic. xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Lace dress (c/o) Simply Dresses; Old Navy vest; Madewell booties; Tory Burch bag; Ray-Ban sunglasses; Kendra Scott bracelet; Shop Prima Donna necklace; Michael Kors watch This little crochet dress came just in time for our latest heat wave, so I couldn't help throwing it on the day I pulled it out of the box. Paired with a favorite vest and leather booties, it felt fall appropriate but still cool enough. We celebrated the wedding of two great friends this weekend, so I'm moving pretty slowly this Monday morning. (But hey, better late than never, right?) Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! xoxo Photos thanks to Kaela Rodehorst H&M dress; CAbi coat (c/o); Sam Edelman "Kayla" boots; Rebecca Minkoff bag; Julie Vos necklace; Michael Kors watch; People by People sunglasses (c/o); bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in "Risk it All" (c/o) I've been on the lookout for the perfect leopard coat for a couple of years now, and this year, I think I may have found it. Don't get me wrong: there are tons of really great leopard jackets and coats out there, but living in Southern California, the last thing I need is (another) heavy winter coat. This one from CAbi is lightweight and SO comfortable, and I love the three-quarter length sleeves - so great with longer sleeves layered underneath in the winter. Also, this post marks the first appearance of the boots that I will undoubtedly be over-wearing this winter. They're the perfect no-frills, suede over the knee boots, and after skipping out on them and regretting it last year, I couldn't resist when they came back around this year. These photos are from my recent New Orleans trip where a slight cool front gave me a little taste of fall. Hopefully there are more fall temps coming my way soon! Happy Friday, everyone! xoxo A couple of years ago I got my makeup done, and the makeup artist used an airbrush system on my face. I thought it was the coolest thing, and I must say, my skin looked flawless. It was kind of the best possible version of myself without looking overly made-up. When it comes to airbrush makeup systems, I've heard a lot of good things about Temptu, so I was excited to get the chance to try it out for myself. Excited, but also intimidated. The Temptu system arrived pretty compact, and it was really quick and easy to set up. (Connect the power cord, air hose, and AIRpod gun, then snap in the foundation pod.) As soon as you turn it on you'll start to feel the air coming through. You hold the lightweight gun like a pencil and pull back on the "trigger" to allow product to flow through. I tested the flow on my hand first to get a feel for how much or how little I wanted to press on the trigger. I was surprised that the foundation is super light, allowing you to build the look you want through layers and avoiding one heavy, caked-on coat. The dial on the machine allows you to adjust airflow according to your needs, but I keep mine on the standard 3:00 position. The kit also included blush and highlighter shades which were also easy to apply, build, and blend. (I even used a bit of the blush as a lipstain and added gloss over it afterward.) The intimidation factor wore off really quickly, and the after effect was light, bright, and a little bit glowing (if I do say so myself). There are no brushes or sponges required, and the formula is hypoallergenic, great for most skin types. I will say though, that Temptu for me is definitely not for everyday use. It takes more time than my usual mineral powder makeup, and I would reserve it for special occasions only, making the price a bit steep. (And also accounting for this sitting-down review. I tend to sit on the floor in front of a mirror when I have a little more time to do my makeup.) Overall though, I am impressed by the Temptu system, so if you're looking for a professional-quality airbrushed look that you can achieve in your own home, it's definitely worth a shot. xoxo Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Temptu, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make My Style Diaries possible.
Riller & Fount dress; Paige Denim plaid shirt (similar); BCBGeneration sneakers via Fatal Obsessions; French Connection bag (c/o); People by People sunglasses (c/o); La Mer Collections watch Last week I met up with Kathleen for happy hour at one of my favorite spots in Newport Beach, The Cannery. After much gabbing and a couple of cocktails, we snapped these photos right outside of the restaurant. I had plans of wearing a cute little dress and heeled sandals all day, but I lost track of time and threw on these glorified sweats on my way out the door. I love Riller & Fount's ultra-soft knitwear, and this little t-shirt dress is no exception. Since I walked the few blocks there, a plaid around the waist, wedge sneakers, and sassy shades helped finish off the look. Hope everyone had a great weekend! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the Emploi New York dress giveaway! Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Alloy Apparel skirt (c/o); CAbi blouse (c/o); Romwe bag (old, shop similar below); Nordstrom hat; Persol sunglasses (similar) It's rare that I find a maxi skirt that I really love, but this one from Alloy really caught my eye. I love fall-ish taupe color and crinkled pleating, and it works just as well now with a sleeveless top as it will later with a cropped sweater. A fringed handbag and feather-embellished hat helped to complete the boho look. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the Emploi New York dress giveaway! Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Emploi New York dress (c/o); Lulu's heels; H&M jacket; French Connection clutch (c/o); Forever 21 sunglasses (similar); Michael Kors watch; Kendra Scott bracelet (c/o) Well I, for one, am ready for fall. Like really, really ready. Unfortunately, Mother Nature here in Southern California is not on the same page. (As in, two 88+ degree forecasts this week. Get it together, October.) So for now I'm sticking with lightweight dresses and such that can be paired with jackets at sundown, and this one from Emploi New York's resort collection is a whole lotta fun when paired with black extras and a bold, pink lip. (Also, check out the rest of their resort threads here.) Now thanks to Emploi, I'm giving one of these dresses away to one lucky reader. Simply click away at the options below. Good luck! xoxo |
