Looking back on 2014, it's crazy where a year can take you. Over the past year, I've gotten to work with amazing brands and photographers, travel a bit, and meet a few great friends through this little blog of mine, and I couldn't have done it without you, my fabulous readers. I'm once again reminded how very lucky I am to share this little space of the internet, and I hope you'll stick around for next year's journey of style, beauty, travel, and, most exciting to me, wedding planning! So cheers to you and a fabulous 2015 - let's make this one the best year yet!

Eric and I spent a few days in Louisiana with my family before heading back to California for Christmas with his family, and although it flew by, our time in Louisiana was perfect. I got to see most of my friends and family, eat some of my favorite foods, take in a few sights and lights, and, oh yeah, we got engaged! Today I'm sharing a few photos from our morning at Oak Alley Plantation, a favorite local stop, pre-engagement and before a couple of glorious thunderstorms chased away the sweater weather. Hope everyone had an amazing holiday season - I know I did! xoxo Piper pants (super similar); No Rest for Bridget sweater; CAbi vest (c/o); BCBGeneration heels; H&M clutch and necklace; C.Wonder sunglasses; Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in 69 With the holidays upon us, there's nothing easier than an all black look, and by adding in pops of color and mixed textures, it's as sleek as it is easy. Leather joggers are always a comfortable choice, and topped with a cropped sweater and faux fur vest, they're holiday party appropriate. Bold accessories and a bolder red lip finish off the look. Hope everyone has a great start to the holiday week! xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole H&M dress; JustFab booties (c/o); Kendra Scott bracelet and ring (c/o); Michael Kors watch How fun is this little fringe-y number for the holidays? If you're still searching for that last-minute party dress, this one is definitely a great choice. It's the perfect little shift fit (which translates to forgiving after all those holiday treats), but the fringe elevates it to a whole new level of fun. I found it for a steal at H&M, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite LBD's. Happy Friday, everyone!

I've paired them with every outfit, from dresses to jeans to sweats, and today's look has become pretty standard. If you're still looking for those last-minute holiday gifts, these scarves are seriously a no-brainer. How's that holiday shopping list coming along? xoxo Getting dressed up for the holidays is always a must for me, and whether it's a new cocktail dress or a favorite cashmere sweater, I like to take full advantage of a fancier-than-normal dress code. I must admit though that as the holidays creep by, the pile of things that I need to take to the dry cleaner grows and grows, and my motivation to take that pile just disappears. Recently I got the chance to check out Dryel's at-home dry cleaner kit, and it's made my actual dry cleaning pile shrink to nothing. It's safe for most of your "Dry Clean Only" clothing, and it helps keep your clothes looking newer longer. To use, spot treat first with the booster spray and then throw everything into the provided bag with an Ultra-Cleaning Cloth. The bag goes into your dryer for 15 minutes to refresh pieces or 30 minutes to deep clean. I tested it out on a favorite dress (shop similar here in black) and cashmere sweater tunic. The results were great, and I can now think of a few dresses that I'll never have to hand wash again. Score. What holiday hacks are you using to save time and money this season? xoxo Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Dryel, but all opinions are my own. Photos by Taylor Cole With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's so nice when you find versatile pieces that can work from day to night, from work to holiday party. This little ivory dress from Piperlime's collection is definitely a dressed up little party dress at first glance, but in a pinch, it works just as well for a day around town. Add on a military-inspired jacket (this one from CAbi has been on major rotation lately), booties, and an easy crossbody to take a lacy number from night to day. Once the sun goes down, switch up the footwear to heels, add a dressy jacket, and grab a clutch to fit right in at the holiday soiree. How are you making your holiday chic a little easier this year? xoxo Piperlime dress (c/o); CAbi jacket; Steve Madden booties (c/o) Piperlime; Joelle Hawkens bag (c/o); Henri Bendel sunglasses; Michael Kors watch For the beauty lover or girly girl on your list, you can't go wrong with a great makeup collection or kit, and bareMinerals has a ton of great ones. I'll be wrapping up a couple of the above kits for gals on my list and saving a few for myself. (I mean, they're too good to give them all away, not gonna lie.) Check out the eight gifts below to give the gift of beauty this holiday season. xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Andrew Marc dress (c/o) Marshalls; H&M jacket (similar); Rebecca Minkoff bag; Sam Edelman Circus booties (c/o) Fatal Obsessions; Knockaround sunglasses (c/o); Kendra Scott ring (c/o) You may have noticed I've taken a much-needed little break from the outfit posts lately. I've still done a couple of holiday posts with companies and shops that I really love, but I've used the last couple of weeks to unplug just a bit. This time of year, although it's my favorite, can get so hectic and stressful with events, parties, and gifts to buy, but this year I wanted to enjoy the holiday season. We took an amazing trip to Hawaii (my first time there), and I decided to skip Black Friday sales and posts in favor of a trip up to Big Sur. On top of that, I've successfully managed to get a pretty good start to my holiday shopping, something I usually save for the last minute. But today I'm back, feeling recharged and 100% in the holiday spirit. (I actually woke up singing "Santa Clause Is Coming to Town"... Strange but true.) This little pocketed shirtdress (seen here in white) has definitely become one of my favorites, and for the slightly cool winter we've been having, it's perfect with a leather jacket and easy moto boots. Add a black bag and simple aviators and I'm done. Hope everyone is having a great week and an even better holiday season! xoxo It happens every year: I think I'm all set and good to go on the gift front, and then I remember that certain someone or gift exchange that I've forgotten. This year I'm determined not to let it happen, and I'm teaming up with Marshalls, T.J.Maxx, and HomeGoods to give you last minute gift ideas for anyone on your list, whether you originally planned to buy for them or not. First up? That office gift exchange that always leaves you stumped. Resist the urge to give that Santa-themed whatever it is, and instead go for a designer crossbody that she'll be able to use year-round. I found this bold red version at T.J.Maxx, and at around $50, it's an easy gift that is sure to please. For your boss who seems to have it all, you can't go wrong with giving a little at-home movie night. A luxe faux fur throw and a gourmet treat are the perfect additions to a Netflix card or movie of your choice. This combo was scooped up at Marshalls, and with a blanket this soft, it's sure to become a favorite. Finally, for those last minute holiday party invites, step up your hostess gift by bringing a loaf of fresh bread paired with delicious jam or preserves. My HomeGoods store had a great selection of jams and jelly along with this marble cutting board that can be used for so many future parties. Feeling inspired yet? Well good news! One lucky reader will win a $100 gift card courtesy of T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods so that you can pick out those last minute gifts as well. Simply follow the prompts below. Good luck, and happy shopping!
