It's one of my go-to ways to look fall-ish without sweating to death. (Layering it over a plaid button-down and slapping on leather shorts and over-the-knee boots are however not encouraged when trying to keep cool. Just FYI.) These photos are finally making it up on the blog from last month's trip to Louisiana, and this day was a particular scorcher in New Orleans. But you know, when you pack your bags with "cool front" in mind, there's just no stopping the layers that will happen. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the Olay Regenerist Luminous Giveaway!

Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Wallis blouse (c/o); Forever 21 shorts; Sam Edelman boots (similar here); H&M necklace, bracelet, and clutch The British fashion brand Wallis has released a brand new, limited-edition "W Collection" for fall and holiday, and it is so good. (And psst, it's all on sale!) The premium collection includes high end basics like knitwear and leather pants and luxe standouts like this sequined dress, perfect for the holidays. While we're still in the middle of our Indian summer here in Southern California, I decided to take this printed blouse from the collection for a spin and style it for now and later (coming to the blog later this week). The shirt is a pretty strong piece on its own, so I kept things pretty simple with leather shorts peeking out, fringe suede boots, and a couple of statement jewels. It's an easy bohemian look that can go from day to night. Stay tuned this week to see this shirt into the winter months.
xoxo Maybe I have my recent time spent in San Francisco to blame (and in particular the 30 or so minutes shivering at the Golden Gate Bridge) or maybe it's an upcoming trip to New York for Fashion Week, but my mind has been wandering to fall fashion lately. I can't help it. To me, there's just nothing like those first cool days (which unfortunately come around December here...) where you can throw on a sweater and scarf and boots and whatever else your heart desires. (Whatever, I sweat it out in the fall here.) Yesterday I came to from a mind wander in my 100 degree house and realized that dang-it, it's still summer, and you live at the beach, woman. Our summer here is really just beginning (the "June Gloom" struggle this year was really real), and there's nothing better than a swimsuit and breezy coverup all weekend long. I came across the Kenna-Maxi brand recently, and I'm pretty much in love with every piece. They're luxe but worth the price for that special vacation or if you, like me, plan to live in one. A few bohemian accessories and a beach bag to hold the essentials are all you need. Here's hoping everyone is soaking up the summer and living in the moment! xoxo Get the Look!
Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Rieley dress (c/o); LA Made tank dress; Urban Outfitters vest; Scala hat; Kelsi Dagger booties via Fatal Obsessions (on sale!); Kate Spade Saturday bag; Ray-Ban sunglasses; Gorjana at Nordstrom necklaces - here and here (c/o); H&M cuff; La Mer Collections watch; Gorjana rings I've noticed a definite trend in my closet additions lately, and it involves a lot of white. This little white dress from Rieley is one of those perfect, throw-on-and-go styles that can be worn a million different ways. For today's look, I went with a bohemian vibe and added an ombre vest, wide-brim hat, and these adorable booties that are on killer sale right now. I finished things off with a go-to crossbody bag and mixed jewelry favorites. Speaking of jewelry, one of my favorite brands Gorjana has just launched on Nordstrom.com, and the collection is really, really good. And while we're on the subject of Nordstrom, right now it's the Annual Sale, and well, that's always really, really good. Happy shopping and hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo Ever since scooping up this dress a few weeks ago at H&M, I've been drawn to anything with tassels, and lucky for me, they're everywhere! Whether they're swinging from a dress or blouse, embellishing a swimsuit, or hanging from your favorite handbag, the movement of a well-placed tassel or two ups the fun factor of any look. While I'd gladly deck myself out in this fringey-tassley full-on number from the Kate Moss for Topshop Collection, above are a few foolproof ways to integrate a few tassels into your everyday wardrobe. Happy shopping!
xoxo Spring is just around the corner, and I can't wait for tank tops, sandals, and shorts (even though I threw in a pair of shorts in yesterday's post). And while I'm all about spring pieces these days, I'm particularly drawn to the darker side of things today and can't get enough black. It's no secret that I love a good pair of leather shorts (exhibits A, B, and C), and for spring I'd pair these with an oversized floral blazer and killer studded sandals (that just so happen to be under $40). Pile on the extras - jewelry, statement shades, a fedora, and quilted handbag - and step out into the sunshine! Here's hoping spring arrives sooner rather than later! xoxo Get the Look! 1. Forever 21 Quilted Crossbody $25 Urban Outfitters sweater dress and socks; Sam Edelman boots; BCBG scarf; H&M clutch; Calvin Klein sunglasses; Vanessa Mooney and Boera rings; Caravelle by Bulova watch Well I'm back in California and back in my favorite uniform these days: slouchy sweater dress, a scarf, and my go-to Sam Edelman fringe boots. It's comfortable and casual for working from home and perfect for the foggy mornings and warm afternoons that have been so common here. A few mixed jewels and a contrasting clutch complete the laidback look for a weekend-meets-weekday kind of vibe. Happy hump day, everyone!
xoxo Black Orchid jeans; top via No Rest for Bridget; Heartloom vest (old); Louis Vuitton bag; Vita Fede ring; Ray-Ban sunglasses Inspired by my horrible hair in yesterday's post, I decided it was time for a much-needed trim. I scored a lucky last-minute appointment, and two hours later I was in the chair impulsively changing my mind from a trim to a full-on chop. It's a fun little change, and I'm glad I decided to just do it. This weekend I'm off to New York to meet up with these lovely ladies and shoot a fun little video. Praying I don't freeze to death, but I'm so excited to head back to New York. (Follow along on Instagram for fun snaps from my trip.) Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo When I unwrapped this little white Free People dress on Christmas morning, it was love at first sight. I immediately wanted to put it on, but I didn't want it to feel too summery (even though it was 75 degrees out). For the spring and summer months, it's perfect alone with easy booties (absolutely love these DV booties that I picked up on Christmas Eve). For now, I like pairing the airy dress with a cozy cardigan, over-the-knee fringed boots, and a hat, just for good measure. With a few additions and accessories, you can take pretty much any dress from summer to winter. Although I've complained a little lately about our lack of cold weather, it is nice that with a few additions and accessories, I can take pretty much any summery dress into "winter", and what could be better than doubling your wardrobe? xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the #OnMyWay2Fab giveaway! In a sort of "can't come up for air", "can't believe I missed that email", "can't wait for the weekend" sort of way. And also in a "can't believe I have this opportunity", "can't believe this is my life" kind of way. I've been blessed with so many great projects in the works, and on top of that, the holidays are coming up. It's my absolute favorite time of year, and yesterday I got to step back and remember that for a bit. We did a little impromptu shopping for Christmas decorations, and after hurrying home to start decorating (a smidge early, I'll admit), I can't wait for the weeks ahead. I was also reminded that I'm so fortunate to live only a couple blocks from the beach. When things start to pile up, there's really nothing better than taking in a beach sunset and enjoying a little wind in your hair. (And perhaps a jog after your hat that's now flying down the beach...but I digress.) As the holidays approach, I hope everyone can remember to take a step back and appreciate the good around them. Here's hoping your week is off to a great start!
