Day two of Lucky FABB was all about a networking brunch, and really, when surrounded by a couple hundred bloggers, editors, and brand representatives, there's pretty much nothing better than a brunch.  Great food, a little booze, and an all out fashion show?  Count me in.  Joined by my fellow New Voices of Beauty, we got to chat beauty and our experiences so far working with Covergirl, Olay, Pantene, and Secret.  Oh, and then there was the timewe got to chat up (and pose for pictures with) Eva Chen, Lucky Magazine's Editor-in-Chief and all-around girl crush.  She oozes likability and strongly pushes her motto of "it's cool to be nice" at every Lucky FABB.  A-OK in my book.

I scored this dress about two days before the conference at Marshalls and was so pleasantly surprised at how well it fit me.  (I swear, if you're not shopping at Marshalls, you're missing out on some great finds.)  I thought the morning would be a bit chilly (and boy was I wrong), so I added my favorite-of-the-moment white blazer.  A few neutral and metallic accessories rounded out the bright look.  Who's excited for more spring fashion?  (Raises hand.)  Have a great rest of your week!

This past weekend I attended Lucky FABB in Los Angeles, and per the usual, it did not disappoint.  For day one I decided to mix things up a bit with a couple of spring prints, and I really love how the look turned out.  The skirt and floral sweatshirt combo was really fun and comfortable, and I can't wait to pair these with other pieces in my wardrobe.  I started out the day by getting my hair and makeup done by Beautiq, a really great Uber-esq app (launching soon in Orange County!) that sends hair and makeup artists right to you.  For my hair and makeup, I decided to keep things pretty simple and wanted to keep the look pretty natural.

The conference touched on a bit of everything, from SEO to social media to keeping up with the latest technology.  We heard about Nicole Richie's new garden obsession and purple hair decision (inspired by her daughter), learned about Sophia Amoruso's inspiring start of Nasty Gal, and got an overall "please don't take yourself too seriously" kick in the ass from Coco Rocha, my surprising favorite of the day.  In a room full of bloggers (and really weak WIFI), your phone is bound to die, but I was able to keep my sanity with this backup Mophie charger from Verizon.  There were beauty tips (from P&G), a photo booth, and maybe a cocktail or two, but by far the best part of the conference was catching up with a few favorite blogger friends.  I'm sad that it's over, but I'm also really excited for this amazing community that I'm lucky to be a part of.  Hope everyone has a great Monday!

This year, P&G and Walgreens are teaming up with Tim Gunn and the 2014 People's Choice Awards, and recently I had the chance to meet with Tim Gunn and Marsha Chilko, North American Beauty Training Manager & Ambassador for P&G, to get an exclusive look at some of P&G's new and exciting products and trends.  Along with a few other bloggers, I met at a Walgreens in LA and took a little tour of its seriously stocked beauty section.  We then got to have a little sit-down with Tim to talk about all things beauty and fashion, and I must say, he's just as kind and interesting to chat with as you might expect.  Overall, it was a really great morning, and I'm so happy that P&G and Walgreens gave me the chance to attend.  We left with a super sweet "Fab Bag" stuffed with products from P&G and Walgreens, from makeup to razors to toothpaste, including my five favorites above.

5 Fab Favorites:

1. Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash with Shea Butter $5 - This body wash smells amazing and gives a great lather, leaving your skin smooth and moisturized.

2. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream $30 - When it comes to hydration, it's hard to beat Olay Regenerist products.  I use this one morning and night and have seen a huge difference in my skin since I started using it.

3. Crest 3D Whitestrips 1-Hour Express $55 - Whiter teeth in just one hour - what's not to love?

4. CoverGirl TruMagic The Skin Perfector $10 - Because I want my skin to be hydrated but never shiny, this is perfect for on-the-go touch-ups.  It's a clear formula creates instant matte perfection and works alone (for those minimal makeup days) or on top of your normal makeup.

5. CoverGirl Bombshell Volume Mascara $10 - This two-step mascara builds and builds for serious volume and length.
And now for the fun part.  Thanks to P&G and Walgreens, I'm giving away one "Fab Bag" (like the ones being given out at the People's Choice Awards) packed with goodies to one lucky reader.  Use the entry form below to enter, and one winner will be chosen on January 8th.  Also, mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 8th at 9pm ET and watch Tim Gunn live on red carpet one hour before the People's Choice Awards (8pm ET) to see all of the fabulous looks.  Good luck, everyone!

On Friday night I co-hosted a fun little bloggers' party at UNO de 50 along with blogger buddies Melanee, Joann, and Donna.  The dress code for the night was red, so I immediately knew I'd wear this favorite printed Leona Collection dress.  UNO de 50 took care of the statement jewels for the night, including this ring that I can't stop thinking about.  Overall it was the perfect little Friday night, and I got to meet some really great fellow bloggers.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Today's look combines a few things that I really love: mixed prints, wide-brimmed hats, a bold handbag, and a really great, statement jewelry line, UNO de 50.  Originally designed as a line with only fifty of each piece created (hence the name), UNO de 50 offers a huge selection of tough chic jewelry in silver and jewel tones.  (On a side note, the earrings above make me wish I could actually wear earrings.  Sigh.)  Anywho, you want to know what's better than discovering a new favorite jewelry line?  Celebrating that line with a little party and a few other bloggers.  This Friday, from 6:30 to 9:00 at UNO de 50 at Fashion Island, join me, Donna, Joann, and Melanee for light refreshments, mixing and mingling, and viewing our favorite pieces from the line.  (Plus, shop your favorites with 10% off.)  One lucky reader will win the night's raffle of the best-selling Ibiza bracelet (worth $145).  Hope to see everyone Friday night!

Gifts for the white elephant exchange
Last night I attended A Sparkling Soiree hosted by GLAM and Sauza Sparkling Margaritas, and as usual with GLAM, the night did not disappoint.  The fete was held at the Petit Ermitage hotel, a little gem in West Hollywood with the most amazing rooftop situation.  On the menu for the evening:  an amazing salmon and steak dinner, Sauza Sparkling Margaritas, an ice cream sundae bar (complete with edible glitter), and plenty of time for chit chat.  We ended the evening with a fun white elephant gift exchange, and it was so fun seeing girls eying (and stealing!) each other's gifts.  The dress code for the night was "Dress to Dazzle", and there's pretty much nothing more dazzling than one of Ripley Rader's sequined jumpsuits.  I met the line's adorable designer back in the spring, and she's a total doll.  Yesterday I swung by her amazing studio in Los Angeles (which I totally did not want to leave) and scooped up this beautiful number for the evening.  I'm so bummed that I don't have better pictures of it, but below are a few favorites from her collection.  (If you aren't really a sequin kind of gal, her basic pieces are pretty much anything but basic and very much beautiful.)  I felt like a million bucks in that jumpsuit, and really, shouldn't all of our clothes make us feel that way?  Thanks so much to GLAM and Sauza for having me, to Ripley Rader for dressing me, and hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Yesterday I finally received a few images from this Nordstrom YOUphoria event I co-hosted back in September, so I thought I'd share them today for #ThrowbackThursday.  It was such a fun night, and I'm so happy to have a few snaps to remember it.  (It's not everyday your blog name is hanging from the ceiling in Nordstrom.)  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Lucky FABB, Day 2

The second day of Lucky FABB is always a bit more laidback than the first.  The first-day networking, tweeting, mad Instagramming, and brand experiences have died down, and the day is broken into small groups taking in targeted subjects.  For the first time, Lucky FABB actually took it to the Condenast building, and lucky for me, I caught a glimpse of the Anna Wintour.  (In case you live under a fashion rock, Anna Wintour is the editor-in-chief of Vogue, and she may or may not be the inspiration behind The Devil Wears Prada.  Yep, that Anna Wintour.)  She stared at me and a few other bloggers like fashion roadkill, and I didn't even care because at the end of the day, she saw me.  Me in all my Nordstrom B.P. Department glory.  It was a thrill.  A thrill that I got to share over lunch with a few of my favorite people who just so happen to have kick-ass blogs: Jenna of The Over-Analyst, Danielle of LouWhatWear, and Beth of Seersucker + Saddles.  Meet them, love them, follow along.

After the conference wrapped, a few of us grabbed our very large swag bags (chiropractor needed) and headed to Bryant Park.  It's one of those places that really makes me love New York, and we snapped a couple of outfit pictures before a glass (or two) of wine.  I'm really into perforated leather these days, and this skirt was a steal of a find.  Add a sweater, cape, snood, tights, and booties, it's comfy, warm and cozy.  The next day, after sleeping through my alarm and missing my flight (the first time I've done that ever), I met up with Ashley of Side Smile Style and Lauren of PR Blonde for a little last-day shopping and coffee before heading back to California.  (And after an hour in Aritzia, the missed-my-flight blues completely vanished.)  Overall it was such an amazing trip, and I can't wait for the next Lucky FABB.  The overall takeaway from the conference?  "It's cool to be nice."  And if Eva Chen (seriously cool girl and Lucky Magazine's editor-in-chief) says so, it is so.

Last week I got to attend my third Lucky FABB conference, and it was once again an amazing couple of days.  If you haven't heard me ramble on about it in the past, FABB is Lucky Magazine's Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference, and it's pretty much like Christmas morning.  (Well, if your Christmas morning involves one seriously stylish gathering with a couple hundred blogger buddies.  No?  Well anyway, it's one of my favorite "holidays".)  I was so excited to catch up with a few favorites and came home with a couple of new friends this time around.  Lucky FABB is such a place of constant inspiration for me, surrounded by so many amazing bloggers, brands, and editors that I both admire and love, and this season did not disappoint.  My highlights from day one include an impromptu scarf tutorial from Eva Mendes, Topshop talk (and beyond) with Kate Bosworth, aNintendo-inspired mani that was definitely out of my comfort zone, and, of course, lots of laughing and a little cocktailing with the girls.

After planning and replanning my outfits and over-packing just a smidge, I went with a Southwestern-inspired look based aroundthese leather shorts for day one.  Oh, and thanks to the lovely ladies at Raika Studio - we got to stop by the night before FABB for cocktails and dry styling, and with the right Paul Mitchell hair spray and dry shampoo, my beach waves were perfect for the next day.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

On Saturday I headed to Fashion Island to check out the Cadillac Design Competition and FIDM Debut collections at Style Week OC.  As a FIDM alum, it's always nice to see and support the latest crop of talent, and the night did not disappoint.  The designs were intricate and beautiful, and I can't help but appreciate the immense amount of work that was on display.  Thanks so much to Cadillac for the invite (and cocktails), and I can't wait to see more from these talented FIDM designers.  Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!
