Paired with the warmest sweater that I own (an old favorite from BCBG's Max Azria Collection) and a wool cape, I managed to stay pretty warm on the coldest day of the trip. This was my look on Tuesday for a couple of early meetings followed by the Pamella Roland show, which was one of my favorites of the week. (LOVE this ombre sequin look.) Stay tuned for one last NYFW look, coming up this week!

Ripley Rader jumpsuit (c/o); H&M studded jacket; Forever 21 fur jacket; Julie Vos necklace (on sale!); Samantha Wills and Nikia rings via Big Drop NYC Yesterday was another whirlwind here in New York, but once again, it was exciting and crazy fun. I started off my day with the Tommy Hilfiger show and actually got to go backstage and see how the models were being prepped with hair and makeup. The show itself did not disappoint, and I find myself suddenly drawn to plaid. Lots and lots of ski resort worthy plaid. I then had brunch and gab time with one of my best friends from high school before heading off to the Katya Leonovich show. Cold and pretty pooped, I called it an early night and headed back to my hotel for room service and TV in bed, something you can only do in a hotel room. My look for the day consisted of a favorite Ripley Rader jumpsuit (made warmer with fleece-lined tights underneath) and a new studded jacket from H&M that I love. Gold jewelry (including two new rings from Big Drop NYC) and my go-to fur coat were the finishing touches. Feeling rested and ready for the day ahead, it's off to more Fashion Week craziness for me. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo Dress via No Rest for Bridget (worn as skirt); H&M sweater; Forever 21 coat; Kelsi Dagger booties; Baublebar necklace; Ray-Ban sunglasses Friday marked the second day of my first New York Fashion Week, and it was definitely a bit busier than the first. I started off my morning drooling over each and every piece at the Rebecca Vallance preview. I want to live in the entire collection, and the styling, music, and overall vibe in the room were perfect. I then headed off to brunch with my Fashion Week partner in crime Naty before stopping by a few showrooms. Along with a few favorite blogger buddies, we toasted a beyond beautiful spring collection at French Connection, had way too many laughs with the Now + Zen girls, and played a little dress-up over at Bollare. I then checked out the leather and prints that made up the Charlotte Ronson preview and ended the night with cupcakes and champagne at a P&G Olympic Viewing party.
I kept warm throughout the day in this favorite faux fur coat that just so happens to be one of the better bargains that I've found. Each time someone commented on my coat, they were pretty shocked to find out it's from Forever 21. At around $40, this coat has definitely been worth every penny. All in all it was such an amazing (and slightly exhausting) day, and I can't wait to do it all over again today. xoxo Zara coat; Forever 21 sweater (similar), shorts (also love these!), sunglasses and necklace; Kelsi Dagger boots via Fatal Obsessions; H&M bag; vkoo gloves Yesterday kicked off the start of New York Fashion Week, and I must say, my first day did not disappoint. After a couple of cancelled flights, I finally made it to New York on a red-eye and hit the ground running. I started off the afternoon with a Jay Godfrey presentation and have now decided that too much leather is never enough. And sequins. Gotta have more sequins. I then headed to Desigual to take in prints and more prints and also to check out Candice Swanepoel strutting. Pretty girl, that one. I ended the day with the adorable and hilarious Now + Zen girls and the Desigual after-party. Not to shabby for the very first day of my very first fashion week! Can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of my trip. Happy Friday, everyone! xoxo This weekend I'll be heading to New York and I'm so excited, but I'm also trying to prepare myself for the COLD. Considering I went to the beach yesterday, I'm pretty sure the East Coast snow and temperatures in the teens will put my body into shock, so this week I'm rounding up all the warm weather gear I can get my hands on (and potentially fit into a suitcase). Of all the coats and accessories, I'm particularly drawn to anything in soft pastels or neutrals, and above are a few favorites. I love the thought of an all winter white look topped with a pastel coat and this statement handwarmer. (After all, every girl needs a faux fur, bambi-esque hand warmer, right?) Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo P.S. - Please vote for me in this WWD Magic Blogger contest - I'd love to attend! Shop These Pieces: 1. Topshop Textured Swing Coat $178

(I'm already well-fed and well-rested, and it's only day one and a half.) For trips home, or any trips through the airport really, it's always a balance of finding something to wear that's comfortable and at least a little bit styled. (Not to mention that on an airplane, I will always freeze.) It can be hard to look decent while schlepping your crap from terminal to terminal (I'm a pretty bad over-packer), but with this season's slouchy pants, it's all a little easier. An oversized sweater and my new favorite scarf finished off the look. And as for the bag... it's a sweet little bottomless hole that fit my computer, camera, mass amounts of chargers, a couple of magazines, and pretty much a million other things - just what I need for a flight. Plus, I love the two-toned leather and snake-print of the bag. It's one of those bags that I know I'll have around for years, and it was a pretty sweet VAULT find. If you're traveling this week, hope your travels are safe, free of smelly plane neighbors, and in the end, are filled with family and friends. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone! xoxo Disclosure: This post is sponsored by VAULT, but all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make My Style Diaries possible.
Photos thanks to the sassy and fabulous Jenna of The Over-Analyst Nordstrom sweater and skirt; The Limited cape; Hue tights; Booties via T.J.Maxx; Madewell scarf; Julie Vos necklaces and bracelet; Gorjana rings; Ray-Ban sunglasses The second day of Lucky FABB is always a bit more laidback than the first. The first-day networking, tweeting, mad Instagramming, and brand experiences have died down, and the day is broken into small groups taking in targeted subjects. For the first time, Lucky FABB actually took it to the Condenast building, and lucky for me, I caught a glimpse of the Anna Wintour. (In case you live under a fashion rock, Anna Wintour is the editor-in-chief of Vogue, and she may or may not be the inspiration behind The Devil Wears Prada. Yep, that Anna Wintour.) She stared at me and a few other bloggers like fashion roadkill, and I didn't even care because at the end of the day, she saw me. Me in all my Nordstrom B.P. Department glory. It was a thrill. A thrill that I got to share over lunch with a few of my favorite people who just so happen to have kick-ass blogs: Jenna of The Over-Analyst, Danielle of LouWhatWear, and Beth of Seersucker + Saddles. Meet them, love them, follow along.
After the conference wrapped, a few of us grabbed our very large swag bags (chiropractor needed) and headed to Bryant Park. It's one of those places that really makes me love New York, and we snapped a couple of outfit pictures before a glass (or two) of wine. I'm really into perforated leather these days, and this skirt was a steal of a find. Add a sweater, cape, snood, tights, and booties, it's comfy, warm and cozy. The next day, after sleeping through my alarm and missing my flight (the first time I've done that ever), I met up with Ashley of Side Smile Style and Lauren of PR Blonde for a little last-day shopping and coffee before heading back to California. (And after an hour in Aritzia, the missed-my-flight blues completely vanished.) Overall it was such an amazing trip, and I can't wait for the next Lucky FABB. The overall takeaway from the conference? "It's cool to be nice." And if Eva Chen (seriously cool girl and Lucky Magazine's editor-in-chief) says so, it is so. xoxo Express dress (old); Margaret O'Leary sweater (c/o); Urban Outfitters socks; Report boots; OK1984 necklace (c/o); Ray-Ban aviators Definitely did not want to leave this spot Jacket via T.J.Maxx Enjoying a glass of wine with a view Taking in the scenery in Sedona The Lodge at The North Rim After Thursday's YOUphoria event with Nordstrom, the boyfriend and I took off on a little road trip for a couple days. The fine folks over at Cadillac provided us with a sweet SRX, so we hit the road in comfort and style. (Seriously, it was nice.) On Friday we headed up to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is one of our favorite places to visit. If you've never been to the North Rim, it really is a must-see. The weather and scenery are much different from the South Rim, and the accommodations are my favorite. There's a comfy, cozy lodge with amazing back patio areas for taking in the Canyon, and everyone stays in little log cabins. Since it's a national park, everything is pretty affordable but also usually booked up far in advance. (If you live close enough, there are usually day-of cancellations, which is how we scored an awesome cabin.) On Saturday morning we headed south to Sedona, Arizona, another one of our favorite places to visit. It's true what they say: there really is something about Sedona. It's so peaceful, and the city is really beautiful. From there, we headed out to Scottsdale for the final night of our trip. I hadn't been before, so I was excited to see the city. We checked into The Saguaro Hotel, which I loved. Everything was so bright and cheerful, and the pool was pretty hard to beat. After a delicious lunch at the hotel's Distrito Restaurant, we started the LONG drive back. We got home overfed and pretty pooped, but it was SO worth it. We had an amazing long weekend, and I already can't wait to plan our next road trip. (Thanks so much to Cadillac for hooking us up with a ride and inspiring our little get-away!) xoxo Photos thanks to Sierra and Brie Cross H&M dress; random cardigan; BDG vest; Nine West booties via Nordstrom; JustFab bag (c/o); Ray-Ban aviators; Gorjana rings, bracelet, and necklace (c/o); Michael Kors watch As I mentioned yesterday, I spent the past couple of days in Seattle for a blogger panel with Nordstrom along with Devon, Sierra, and Mara. The trip was definitely short but sweet, and it was really great discussing style blogs with some of the fabulous folks at Nordstrom and Glam Media. After the panel, we headed to Nordstrom for a little shopping (obviously) where I purchased my first bold red lipstick, well, ever, thanks to a little prodding from Sierra and the lovely Brie from Nordstrom's PR team. (You can check out the post-red-lip shot here. You like?) Overall it was an amazing first time in Seattle, and although I didn't want to leave, it's nice to be home just in time for the weekend. Happy Friday, everyone!
xoxo Pictures just really don't do this city justice Seattle selfies at The Gap, trying to decide if I needthese wedges. Really beautiful happy hour at the Edgewater Hotel (If you ever have the chance, highly recommend a stay here.) Post-manicure: short and nude, just like I like them This week I'm spending a couple of days in Seattle for a blogger panel with Nordstrom and Glam Media. I'll be in really good company for the panel (with Mara, Devon, and Sierra), but yesterday I was on my own to explore Downtown Seattle. The city is really beautiful, and I've decided that I must come back when I can stay for a few nights. Above are a few Instagram shots from yesterday, and there are more to come (so follow along!). Hope everyone is having a great week!
