My favorite "jorts" look is easy and distressed, so I started with an old pair of boyfriend jeans that already had a bit of distressing. Having one too many DIY projects like this turn into shorts that are too short to wear, I decided to cut them a bit longer and keep trimming off inch by inch until I liked the length. It was tedious but worth it. I also used my favorite pair for inseam comparison. Because there's nothing worse than jorts that hug your legs, I cut slits in the outside seams and then ripped the slits a bit. With every cut that I made, I pulled at the loose threads to create a fringe effect. Overall I love the way that they came out and am thinking I may hit up the local thrift store for more jeans to convert.
