Photos thanks to Hadasa H&M blouse; Zara shorts; Banana Republic wedges; Bead For Life necklace; La Mer Collections watch (c/o); Henri Bendel bag, bracelet, and sunglasses In the spring and summer months, there's nothing better to me than a heavy dose of white, so I always stock up on light and easy white blouses. Likewise, comfortable, pull-on-and-go shorts are a summer staple, so I couldn't resist this striped pair recently at Zara. Camel wedges, a classic handbag, and neutral accessories finished off the look, and a fun beaded necklace added a little pop of color. The necklace is by Bead for Life, an organization that teaches women in Uganda to make beads by rolling recycled paper. It creates a sustainable uplift and a way for these women to support their families. There are really beautiful designs on the site (love the handbags), and you can also purchase loose beads for those DIY projects you've been meaning to get around to. What's not to love about great accessories that actually give back? xoxo

H&M tunic; JustFab sandals (c/o); Tory Burch bag; Julie Vos necklace; C.Wonder bracelet; Alex and Ani gold bracelet; Ray-Ban sunglasses Sticking with this week's goal of beating the heat, I was definitely happy that I bought this barely there H&M tunic in two colors. (Remember this one from last week?) It's the perfect throw-on-and-go piece (with the gladiator sandals I haven't taken off all week), and I can't get enough of the fun tassels. A bright bracelet and bold handbag added a little color. Supposedly this heat wave is finally coming to an end, just in time for the weekend, but hopefully it's still warm enough to head to the beach. What do you guys have planned for this weekend? xoxo LOFT shorts; Forever 21 sweater; sandals via T.J.Maxx; Gorjana necklace and bracelets; Michael Kors watch and bag; Samantha Wills ring; Ray-Ban sunglasses Today I'm sharing my last pictures from my trip to Mississippi a few weeks ago. I'm not much of a cropped top kind of gal, but I loved the nautical stripes on this cropped little sweater and paired with easy trouser shorts, it was just my speed. Easy accessories and gold trimmed sandals kept this look simple and beach city appropriate. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo Free People shorts; CAbi blouse (c/o); JustFab sandals (c/o); Olivia + Joy bag; Necklaces: Jane Basch, LOFT (similar), and Gorjana (c/o); Bracelets:Alex and Ani, Gorjana; Michael Kors watch; Ray-Ban sunglasses In a word, this week has been toasty. Yesterday got up to 99 degrees, and this little un-air-conditioned beach house of ours was sweltering. It's the kind of days where nothing else will do besides an ultra-thin, airy blouse and beyond comfortable cut-offs. This CAbi blouse is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, and the shorts have been in constant rotation lately. A pair of this season's see-them-everywhere gladiator sandals and stacked jewelry add a little fun to the basic look. I finished things off with messy, textured hair (using this spray from Kerastase) because nothing says crazy like a blow dryer in a heat wave. Hope everyone is staying cool this week! xoxo Ever since scooping up this dress a few weeks ago at H&M, I've been drawn to anything with tassels, and lucky for me, they're everywhere! Whether they're swinging from a dress or blouse, embellishing a swimsuit, or hanging from your favorite handbag, the movement of a well-placed tassel or two ups the fun factor of any look. While I'd gladly deck myself out in this fringey-tassley full-on number from the Kate Moss for Topshop Collection, above are a few foolproof ways to integrate a few tassels into your everyday wardrobe. Happy shopping!
xoxo River Island dress (c/o); Just Fab sandals (c/o); Forever 21 clutch; La Mer watch (c/o); ASOS sunglasses I've never really been a fan of pink. Not in my adult life anyway, and definitely not hot pink. It's a little too Barbie for me with the blonde hair and all. But then there's this dress. The minute I put it on, I knew that it was the perfect "shift cut" for me. It fits to a T, and I love the cutout detail in the back. I wore this yesterday for Mother's Day dinner, and it completely hid my margaritas and over-eating by the end of the night. A simple pair of black sandals and minimal accessories completed the look. Although I couldn't spend Mother's Day with my own mama (I guess all last week in Boston will have to do), it was an amazing evening with my second family in California. I hope everyone had an amazing Mother's Day and weekend! xoxo H&M Conscious tunic; sandals via Marshall's; Michael Kors clutch; Samantha Wills ring; Gorjana necklace and bracelet; Michael Kors watch; Ray-Ban sunglasses A few weeks ago I picked up this bright tunic from H&M's Conscious Collection, and over the weekend, it was finally hot enough to wear it. I'm obsessed with the bold colors, and the fabric is the softest, perfect for throwing on after a day spent at the beach. I added a pair of lace shorts underneath (as it is a tad short), flat sandals, and layers of gold jewelry. I can tell that it will definitely be a favorite piece of mine this summer. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the 2 giveaways going on - If you still haven't shopped for mom, there's no time like the present to grab those last-minute Mother's Day gifts. Happy Friday, gals, and TGIF! This week was definitely one of those that makes you look forward to the weekend just a little more than usual. Southern California experienced a heat wave, which is all good and well if you're at the beach soaking up the rays near the ocean, but inside our un-air-conditioned house with an overheating laptop, things got pretty toasty. (The no air condition thing was definitely something I had to get used to when I moved to Orange County. "But you never need it" they say. Sometimes they are very wrong.) When the temps get high here, you can find me hot and bothered, awkwardly sweating inside our little beach house. That's where Sauza comes in and saves the day with some much needed "Margarita Moments". Margarita Moments are when girlfriends can relax together, enjoy a margarita, and recap their stressful, funny, and sometimes embarrassing stories, and after spending last weekend as the only girl on a boys' fishing trip, I was definitely looking forward to a little girl time. We whipped up a pitcher of Sauza-ritas using this recipe (1 can Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila*, 1 bottle light beer, 1 can frozen limeade, 1 can water) and switched out the frozen limeade for fresh. I also added jalepenos and red chili flakes to mine because I love a spicy margarita. Chips and salsa were a must, and I tried out a Mexican spaghetti squash bake that was delicious. (Mix shredded chicken, black beans, corn, onions, bell peppers, a jalepeno, tomatoes, and tomato sauce and spread over steamed spaghetti squash. Top with cheese and bake for thirty minutes. Serve with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.) Add in a few magazines (and every fan in the house) for the perfect girls' night in. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend and gets to have a few Margarita Moments of their own! xoxo Sauza® is a registered trademark of Tequila Sauza S. de R.L. de C.V.
