Dress: (c/o) H&M; Coat: Forever 21 (old); Booties: Franco Sarto; Clutch: (c/o) Gorjana; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban This past week has been cold. Chilling my beach-loving bones cold. The one upside (besides a constant fire in the fireplace) is that I'll take any excuse to sport a little (faux) fur, and this one from Forever 21 was such a score a few years ago. Over the weekend I finally pulled out this floral H&M dress that's been hiding in my closet and paired it with a contrasting burgundy bootie and favorite Gorjana wristlet for a night out with friends. This weekend is supposed to warm up a ton, so I guess I'll be stowing the fur. For now. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Create a modern take on a classic look by pairing ladylike, tailored basics with unexpected accessories. Worn with a sleek white coat, a basic black shirt dress is seasonless, and an oversized wool hat gives an old school vibe. Spiked platforms, mirrored aviators and a leopard clutch update the look, while a menswear-inspired watch and chain bracelet add the finishing touches. xoxo Get the Look!1. Now I don't know if it's true for everyone, but I did notice a little pep in my step after getting geared up for yesterday's post. (There may or may not have been a circle of high kicks in the living room followed by a leap off of a lifeguard tower. Just saying.) If your New Year's resolution of getting more exercise is slowly losing steam, then it may be time to give your workout wardrobe a kick in the pants. Head over to Old Navy for up to 40% off their entire collection of activewear, and quit dragging your feet! The sale ends tomorrow, kids. Here's hoping that resolution of yours starts looking up. But it's 2013 and perhaps a little exercise here and there wouldn't kill me. Oh, and of course, I need to look the part. Enter Old Navy. They have a great line of activewear, from sports bras, tops and jackets to leggings and shoes, in breathable, high-quality fabrics. Priced at just $19, I can't believe how comfortable and lightweight the sneakers are, and the compression leggings rival any others on the market. Even better news? Now through Wednesday, January 16th, the entire line is on sale, with some items up to 40% off. So, what are you waiting for? There's no better time to stock up, gear up, and get sporty for 2013.

xoxo Track-like, non-scandalous leather shorts are the wardrobe staple you'll probably wear more than you think and are a serious no-brainer for this girl (as seen by a slight obsession with a certain H&M pair here, here, and here). For a laidback night out with friends, pair them with a loose chambray button-down and sky-high booties, and add a faux fur snood for warmth. Finish the look with an eye-catching python clutch, stacks of gold accessories and a simple topknot. What are the pieces in your wardrobe on heavy rotation? xoxo Get the Look!1. Rebecca Minkoff Studs Watchband Bracelet $98 After spending a solid twelve years of my life in a (private school mandated) knee-length plaid skirt, I'd say it's with good reason that the whole preppy thing is not a look I usually go for. Usually. But then I spent a little too much time browsing Madewell's tailored, prep-perfect site, and my inner Blair Waldorf couldn't get enough. I love the bold hues of this printed, pleated mini paired with this slim and sleek double-breasted blazer. Tone the look down slightly with a heavy dose of black: chunky scarf, warm tights, ankle boots and a crossbody bag. Finish with a few gold touches for an Upper Eastside meets the Countryside chic. xoxo Get the Look!1. Madewell Charade Blazer $138

For a quick and easy nautical look, pair the figure-flattering denim with an anchor-embellished sweater and swing coat combo. Add ankle booties, a bold clutch and oversized shades, and finish with simple gold jewelry for a cute and cozy day to night look. Hope everyone is having a great week so far! xoxo Get the Look!1.
