Margaret O'Leary sweater; Nordstrom skirt; Hue tights; BCBGeneration wedges; C.Wonder and Michael Kors bracelets; Gorjana rings; Michael Kors watch Ohh, the tummy ache. Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving like many Americans, surrounded by family and friends and way too much food. We spent the day with my family in Louisiana, and somehow I survived two gigantic meals (with little self-control). With all the craziness of catching up on work, travel, and preparing this and that, sometimes I forget to relax and remember the best part of the holiday season. I'm reminded how incredibly lucky I am to have such a supportive family, an equally supportive and loving boyfriend, a job that I love, and readers like you who make it possible. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving with family, food, and lots of love. And if you're shopping today, then Happy Black Friday! (My personal fave? Head over to the Gap for 50% off of everything in store. Everything.)

Zara pants; Nordstrom sweater; Zara scarf; Clava bag (c/o) VAULT; BCBGeneration booties; Henri Bendel sunglasses; C.Wonder bracelet; Gorjana rings; Besame Cosmetics lipstick in Cherry Red (c/o) Wantable Yesterday we made the trek from California to Louisiana to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with my family, and it's so good to be home. (I'm already well-fed and well-rested, and it's only day one and a half.) For trips home, or any trips through the airport really, it's always a balance of finding something to wear that's comfortable and at least a little bit styled. (Not to mention that on an airplane, I will always freeze.) It can be hard to look decent while schlepping your crap from terminal to terminal (I'm a pretty bad over-packer), but with this season's slouchy pants, it's all a little easier. An oversized sweater and my new favorite scarf finished off the look. And as for the bag... it's a sweet little bottomless hole that fit my computer, camera, mass amounts of chargers, a couple of magazines, and pretty much a million other things - just what I need for a flight. Plus, I love the two-toned leather and snake-print of the bag. It's one of those bags that I know I'll have around for years, and it was a pretty sweet VAULT find. If you're traveling this week, hope your travels are safe, free of smelly plane neighbors, and in the end, are filled with family and friends. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone! xoxo Disclosure: This post is sponsored by VAULT, but all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make My Style Diaries possible.

LOFT jeans; ASTR leather top; Gap jacket (similar); Zara heels; Nine West bag; Calvin Klein sunglasses; Boera ring Well Mother Nature, she is a fickle little wench. The temps this weekend were constantly up and down, necessitating shorts at times and cozy fireplace fires at others. It's days like these that I'm very happy that I stocked up on a few new lightweight blazers this "winter". Paired with skinny jeans and a fun leather tee, a lightweight blazer is all I need for these sort-of chilly days. I'm headed home to Louisiana tomorrow for a few days, and I'm pretty excited for some actual colder weather. (Just one problem: packing everything I've been dying to wear.) Hope everyone's Thanksgiving week is off to a great start! xoxo Well, the halls (and malls) are being decked, the office parties are in the works, and it's finally a smidge chilly out here. The holidays are coming! It's time to add a little sparkle to your wardrobe, and this year I'm loving the idea of a full-on, sparkle-covered maxi skirt for that upcoming holiday soiree. (If silver's more your thing, check out this stunner. Insane.) Tame this over-the-top skirt with a cozy little sweater (love the v-back detail) and simple sleek heels. To avoid looking like too much of a disco ball, I kept the accessories all black, with a dose of green (it is the holidays, after all). Hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit! Happy Friday! xoxo Get the Look! 1. Lulu's Gold Sequin Maxi Skirt $95
2. Mango V-Back Angora Blend Sweater $60 3. Versus by Versace Tokyo Watch $190 4. Zara Suede High Heel $100 5. Adia Kibur Gemstone Drop Earrings $30 6. JNB Jewels Bella Ring $90 7. Forever 21 Bookish Leather Clutch $20 8. C.Wonder Vintage Spike Lucite Cuff $58 As my job choice would suggest, I've got a thing for all things clothing and shopping related, and social media and the internet only help to feed the addiction. As a blogger, I'm constantly posting my latest finds and talking about the things on my wishlist, and I'm always looking for inspiration on sites like Pinterest. Ever find yourself killing time on Pinterest, and (Bam!) you find THE perfect <fill in the blank here>? Whether it's your next winter coat, a killer pair of heels, a dress for an upcoming event, or a ton of other finds, you've found it, and you're clicking away trying to figure out where to buy it. All too often the link doesn't take you back to a shoppable site, and your perfect item remains a mystery. That's where The Hunt comes in. The Hunt is a super easy (and pretty addictive) new app that allows you to upload images of the fashion finds you're trying to get your hands on. You specify whether you're looking for the exact item, something similar, or a look for less and even choose an ideal price for it. Your image goes into the main feed, and other "hunters" can make suggestions if they think they've found it. If you like what you see, you can click to buy. Everything is SO simple. I've submitted a few hunts of my own, and I've found that I really enjoy the "hunting" part. Scrolling through the feed, it's so satisfying to help someone find the thing they've been looking for. (If you're online as much as I am, you're bound to spot a few images and know exactly where to find them.) The Hunt is free to download in the app store, is officially launching today, and is sure to cure your outfit envy. Happy hunting! xoxo Disclosure: This post is sponsored by The Hunt, but all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make My Style Diaries possible.
Blank Denim vegan leather pants; Vintage Havana sweater (c/o); Report Signature flats; Urban Outfitters fur stole; Forever 21 and Karen London necklaces; Henri Bendel sunglasses Weatherman's predicting rain and gloom for the rest of the week, and I pretty much couldn't be happier. Time to pull out the sweaters and leather and fur (oh my!) and get ready for the holiday season. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is already next week, and we're kicking our celebration off a little early with a neighborhood potluck tonight. These leather pants (last seen here) just get better and better with each wear, and paired with a cozy sweater, they've been a go-to look lately. I picked up this fur stole a few seasons ago, and every time I pull it out I wonder why I don't wear it more. A pair of flats, aviators, and a holds-everything (and I mean everything) bag, and I'm out the door. There are approximately five million things to do before tonight's dinner, and I'm on the clock, people! Hope everyone is having a great week!
xoxo P.S. - Please take a minute to vote for me in the P&G "New Voices of Beauty" contest. I really appreciate your votes! There are probably about a million methods to online shopping, and recently I noticed a definite method of my own. I browse around, adding anything and everything (usually in multiple colors and sizes) to my cart. (I may have a little problem with indecision from time to time. Or perhaps it's just a shopping problem. Not quite sure.) It's my favorite form of procrastination, really, and a serious problem when I'm on any kind of deadline. After shopping every department and hitting the sale section as a final measure, I head to my shopping cart to start making the decisions. This is the hard part, of course, and additional procrastination from anything else in life is required. The other night while killing a few hours over on the VAULT website (a real problem recently), I noticed a little trend going on in my overstuffed shopping cart. Apparently, I've got a little thing for snake prints. The tote bags above really rock my socks, and I must admit, mine was delivered to my door yesterday. It's the perfect size for schlepping half the things I own through an airport (usually the case), or, in all seriousness, it's ideal for my laptop, camera, and random other flight necessities. I can't wait to break it in for Thanksgiving. For a night out, nothing spices up basic black better than a snake-print clutch (or peep-toe heels or sleek cuff). For a casual day look, a printed scarf or faux snake belt adds a little something extra. Want to add a little something extra to your winter wardrobe? Head over to VAULT and do a little cart-filling of your own. Happy shopping! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to check out VAULT's blog for more great finds! Get the Look! 1. H&M sweater; Diesel leather shorts; Sam Edelman boots; Forever 21 clutch; Nordstrom hat; Henri Bendel sunglasses; OK1984 necklace (c/o); Kluster beaded bracelet (c/o); Gorjana rings; Michael Kors watch; Nars Lipstick in Majella Things lately have been...busy. In a sort of "can't come up for air", "can't believe I missed that email", "can't wait for the weekend" sort of way. And also in a "can't believe I have this opportunity", "can't believe this is my life" kind of way. I've been blessed with so many great projects in the works, and on top of that, the holidays are coming up. It's my absolute favorite time of year, and yesterday I got to step back and remember that for a bit. We did a little impromptu shopping for Christmas decorations, and after hurrying home to start decorating (a smidge early, I'll admit), I can't wait for the weeks ahead. I was also reminded that I'm so fortunate to live only a couple blocks from the beach. When things start to pile up, there's really nothing better than taking in a beach sunset and enjoying a little wind in your hair. (And perhaps a jog after your hat that's now flying down the beach...but I digress.) As the holidays approach, I hope everyone can remember to take a step back and appreciate the good around them. Here's hoping your week is off to a great start!
xoxo P.S. - And speaking of amazing opportunities, please take a minute to vote for me in the P&G New Voices of Beauty campaign. (You can vote once a day!) Dinner with GLAM and Sauza Sparkling Margaritas So in love with this Ripley Rader sequin jumpsuit. And her studio is pretty rad as well. Dinner and girl gab with Jenn Last night I attended A Sparkling Soiree hosted by GLAM and Sauza Sparkling Margaritas, and as usual with GLAM, the night did not disappoint. The fete was held at the Petit Ermitage hotel, a little gem in West Hollywood with the most amazing rooftop situation. On the menu for the evening: an amazing salmon and steak dinner, Sauza Sparkling Margaritas, an ice cream sundae bar (complete with edible glitter), and plenty of time for chit chat. We ended the evening with a fun white elephant gift exchange, and it was so fun seeing girls eying (and stealing!) each other's gifts. The dress code for the night was "Dress to Dazzle", and there's pretty much nothing more dazzling than one of Ripley Rader's sequined jumpsuits. I met the line's adorable designer back in the spring, and she's a total doll. Yesterday I swung by her amazing studio in Los Angeles (which I totally did not want to leave) and scooped up this beautiful number for the evening. I'm so bummed that I don't have better pictures of it, but below are a few favorites from her collection. (If you aren't really a sequin kind of gal, her basic pieces are pretty much anything but basic and very much beautiful.) I felt like a million bucks in that jumpsuit, and really, shouldn't all of our clothes make us feel that way? Thanks so much to GLAM and Sauza for having me, to Ripley Rader for dressing me, and hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo |
