Forever 21 sweatshirt dress; BCBGeneration sneakers (on sale!); H&M bag; The Limited scarf (old); Caravelle by Bulova watch; Belle Noel Ring; Calvin Klein aviators After last weekend's amazing trip to New York and this week's busy schedule of playing catch-up, my body is finally feeling the recent lack of sleep. This weekend I'll be taking it easy (and maybe taking a nap or two), and I couldn't be happier about it. Super Bowl Sunday is the perfect time to relax, indulge in a few (too many) snacks, and check out the latest million-dollar commercials. In preparation for this weekend, today's look is a little bit sporty and a lotta bit comfy. Sweatshirt dresses are an absolute weakness of mine, and for about 20 bucks, this one was screaming my name at Forever 21. These sneakers have rarely left my feet over the last week, and pre-Fashion Week, my feet are definitely thanking me. Finished things off with an old favorite scarf and a new favorite bag (scooped up at H&M for about $7 - score). Happy Friday, and hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo

So we're officially a week away from New York Fashion Week, and all I can think about is what I'll want to pack (and how in the world I'm going to fit it all in suitcases). The list goes on and on, but there's one thing I know for sure: you do NOT head off to NYFW looking like a schmoe. One way to stretch my packing space is to focus on dressed-up and classic basics like a great pair of black pants. Whether worn with an ivory blouse or a chunky sweater, they're a great mix-and-match staple. For this look, I'd add a bold coat, a seriously to-die-for mini bag, and statement silver accessories. Now, for the other 100 outfits I want to bring... xoxo Get the Look! 1. Edie Borgo Horus Ring $105 (On sale!)

Ray-Ban Mirrored Aviator $160 Urban Outfitters sweater dress and socks; Sam Edelman boots; BCBG scarf; H&M clutch; Calvin Klein sunglasses; Vanessa Mooney and Boera rings; Caravelle by Bulova watch Well I'm back in California and back in my favorite uniform these days: slouchy sweater dress, a scarf, and my go-to Sam Edelman fringe boots. It's comfortable and casual for working from home and perfect for the foggy mornings and warm afternoons that have been so common here. A few mixed jewels and a contrasting clutch complete the laidback look for a weekend-meets-weekday kind of vibe. Happy hump day, everyone!

It's been my home away from home for the last three days, and it's been an incredible little trip. Along with three other bloggers (Naty, Amy, and Katie), I had the amazing opportunity to shoot with Lucky Magazine and P&G for their New Voices of Beauty campaign, thanks to your votes! On Sunday we headed out to brunch with a couple of Lucky editors and then out in SOHO for a little shopping. We had such a great (and freezing!) day and weekend, and I can't wait to share the finished video with you guys in a few weeks. Today I'm headed home to California, but I can't wait to make it back in a few short days for Fashion Week. There really is something so special about this city. Thank you so much to Lucky Magazine and P&G for hosting us this weekend, and thank you all for your votes that made this little dream weekend possible. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
xoxo Images via Getty Images Last night was yet another fabulous night of award show fashion, and the inspiration train definitely rolls on. Of all the award shows, The Grammy red carpet is always a toss-up, and you never know what to expect. While previous years have become shock factor competitions filled with intentional nip slips, this year's looks were unexpectedly tame and so very beautiful. Beyonce killed it per the usual; Miranda Lambert stunned in red; and three of my favorites glowed in gold. Chrissy Teigen, Taylor Swift, and Ciara all rocked my favorite fashion trend of the night: all out gold. Now it's no secret that I've got a thing for gold. In jewelry and embellishments, my motto is "more is more", but creating a full-on gilded look can be a bit trickier. The key to taking this trend from the red carpet to the streets is to choose one piece (like the skirt below) and build around it. An easy neutral sweater and must-have blush coat keep the look pulled-together and easy to wear. For another take on the trend, try a metallic dress paired with a leather jacket and basic black booties, or take a gilded blazer for a spin. Whatever you try, be confident have a little fun with it. Hope everyone has a great week! xoxo Get the Look: From the Red Carpet to the Street 1. Dharma Eyewear Bombay Aviators $99 2. Topshop Fluffy Swing Coat $178 3. JNB Jewels Bella Ring $90 4. Black Orchid jeans; top via No Rest for Bridget; Heartloom vest (old); Louis Vuitton bag; Vita Fede ring; Ray-Ban sunglasses Inspired by my horrible hair in yesterday's post, I decided it was time for a much-needed trim. I scored a lucky last-minute appointment, and two hours later I was in the chair impulsively changing my mind from a trim to a full-on chop. It's a fun little change, and I'm glad I decided to just do it. This weekend I'm off to New York to meet up with these lovely ladies and shoot a fun little video. Praying I don't freeze to death, but I'm so excited to head back to New York. (Follow along on Instagram for fun snaps from my trip.) Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo Diesel shorts (old); Sanctuary Clothing sweater (c/o); H&M jacket; Nine West bag; Jessica Simpson heels; Zara necklace; Henri Bendel sunglasses; Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Majella Can you ever really have too many soft and cozy, throw-on-with-anything sweaters? My answer is no, and when said sweaters include unexpected details like ivory leather on the sleeves, well then the answer is a definite no. I'm loving this particular sweater for the California "winter" weather we've been having, and paired with a worn-in pair of shorts, it's my kind of leather on leather. A bold striped jacket adds a little color, and nude pumps complete the look. Hope everyone is having a great week!
xoxo Evleo leggings (c/o); Urban Outfitters plaid; Everlane sweatshirt (c/o); Zara heels; Gorjana wristlet (similar); Miriam Merenfeld neckace (c/o); Ray-Ban sunglasses; Bracelets: Michael Kors, C. Wonder, Gorjana So today I'm taking this Everlane sweatshirt for one more spin because third time's a charm, right? After pairing it with dressed-up sweatpants last week and a leather skirt and boots earlier this week, I figured I'd take it easy today with a slouchy plaid and coated leggings. (The leggings are a new discovery from Evleo, and if you're into leggings, they're a name you should know.) Heels and stacked gold jewelry help pull the look together a bit. I'm still rounding up warm necessities for this weekend's trip to New York, and the forecast is just frightening to me. Any and all packing/dressing suggestions for the frigid cold are welcome!
xoxo P.S. - There's only a couple days left in this WWD Magic blogger contest, and I'd really appreciate your vote! This weekend I'll be heading to New York and I'm so excited, but I'm also trying to prepare myself for the COLD. Considering I went to the beach yesterday, I'm pretty sure the East Coast snow and temperatures in the teens will put my body into shock, so this week I'm rounding up all the warm weather gear I can get my hands on (and potentially fit into a suitcase). Of all the coats and accessories, I'm particularly drawn to anything in soft pastels or neutrals, and above are a few favorites. I love the thought of an all winter white look topped with a pastel coat and this statement handwarmer. (After all, every girl needs a faux fur, bambi-esque hand warmer, right?) Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo P.S. - Please vote for me in this WWD Magic Blogger contest - I'd love to attend! Shop These Pieces: 1. Topshop Textured Swing Coat $178

Dorothy Perkins Blush Faux Fur Collar Boyfriend Coat $119 (On sale - additional 30% off!) 7. Topshop Bambi Muff Handwarmer $50 Everlane sweatshirt (c/o); H&M jacket; ASTR skirt; Vera Wang boots via Marshall's; Case-Mate crossbody; BCBG studded cuff; Kendra Phillip necklace (c/o); Calvin Klein sunglasses; NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Majella Since posting this look last week, I've pretty much been wearing the crap out of this cozy little sweatshirt from Everlane. Comfy enough to wear to bed (but far too cute to do so), it's as versatile as a favorite tee, so I figured I'd show two more ways to wear it this week. Today's look combines the easy top with a bold blue leather skirt, leather boots, and a fun, colorblocked crossbody for a day-to-night feel. A biker-style jacket adds the final touch, and worn over the shoulders, it's perfect for this week's 75-degree weather. Hope everyone had a great weekend! xoxo P.S. - Please vote for me in the WWDMagic Blogger contest - you can vote once a day, and it only takes a second! |
