It's one of my go-to ways to look fall-ish without sweating to death. (Layering it over a plaid button-down and slapping on leather shorts and over-the-knee boots are however not encouraged when trying to keep cool. Just FYI.) These photos are finally making it up on the blog from last month's trip to Louisiana, and this day was a particular scorcher in New Orleans. But you know, when you pack your bags with "cool front" in mind, there's just no stopping the layers that will happen. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the Olay Regenerist Luminous Giveaway!

Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Wallis blouse and jacket (c/o); Sanctuary pants; Forever 21 clutch; Call It Spring heels (c/o); Ray-Ban sunglasses It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of fur. Fur anything. (Well, almost.) Mainly fur jackets and vests, a favorite new clutch, and a throw blanket on my couch that I probably use when it's a little too warm to do so. Needless to say, when checking out Wallis' new "W Collection", this burgundy leather-trimmed fur baby was a definite standout. After styling this Wallis printed blouse for now in Monday's post, today I'm styling it for later, once the temperatures drop. I love pairing oxblood with light blue for the fall, and this pairing is no exception. Faux leather leggings and ankle-strap heels complete the look. Now if we could only get some of those cooler temps... xoxo True Religion jeans; Forever 21 blouse; ASTR leather top; H&M jacket; Zara heels; Winky Designs clutch (c/o); Calvin Klein sunglasses; La Mer Collections watch (c/o); Serene Sky midi ring (c/o) Last night capped off awards season with the biggest fashion show of them all: The Academy Awards. The Oscars are always my favorite red carpet to watch because the stars tend to go for all-out glam, and last night's looks did not disappoint. Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde (below) showed that dressing a bump can be oh-so-glam; Lupita Nyong'o continued her red carpet domination (and made us all cry with her acceptance speech); Kate Hudson reminded everyone of her serious red carpet power; and Charlize Theron killed it in standard Charlize fashion. While beautiful pastels and metallics definitely had their place on the carpet last night, some of my favorite ladies stunned in head-turning black. Charlize, always a favorite of mine, was hands-down my best dressed of the night, but all of the women below deserve major credit for standing out in black. From a jewel-encrusted top to an eye-catching bow back to a fun lace peplum, the key to rocking these black looks is all in the details. Inspired by the red carpet, I created my own dark look and broke up the monotony by mixing textures. Finish the look with a sequin clutch and a bold pink lip. Looking back at this season's awards shows, how will you create your own red carpet inspired "One of a Kind Style"? xoxo All images via Getty Images With a delicious One of a Kind taste and zero calories, Diet Dr Pepper is as unique as you are. I loved how this icy blue coat stood out in a sea of black jackets, and paired with an ivory leather-front dress, it was the perfect snow-day color palette. I added a bit of shine with mirrored aviators and iridescent heels and finished off the look with a couple of statement rings. Looking back, NYFW was such a whirlwind, but I had a blast. I hope you've enjoyed following along!

Paired with the warmest sweater that I own (an old favorite from BCBG's Max Azria Collection) and a wool cape, I managed to stay pretty warm on the coldest day of the trip. This was my look on Tuesday for a couple of early meetings followed by the Pamella Roland show, which was one of my favorites of the week. (LOVE this ombre sequin look.) Stay tuned for one last NYFW look, coming up this week!
xoxo Ripley Rader jumpsuit (c/o); H&M studded jacket; Forever 21 fur jacket; Julie Vos necklace (on sale!); Samantha Wills and Nikia rings via Big Drop NYC Yesterday was another whirlwind here in New York, but once again, it was exciting and crazy fun. I started off my day with the Tommy Hilfiger show and actually got to go backstage and see how the models were being prepped with hair and makeup. The show itself did not disappoint, and I find myself suddenly drawn to plaid. Lots and lots of ski resort worthy plaid. I then had brunch and gab time with one of my best friends from high school before heading off to the Katya Leonovich show. Cold and pretty pooped, I called it an early night and headed back to my hotel for room service and TV in bed, something you can only do in a hotel room. My look for the day consisted of a favorite Ripley Rader jumpsuit (made warmer with fleece-lined tights underneath) and a new studded jacket from H&M that I love. Gold jewelry (including two new rings from Big Drop NYC) and my go-to fur coat were the finishing touches. Feeling rested and ready for the day ahead, it's off to more Fashion Week craziness for me. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo Dress via No Rest for Bridget (worn as skirt); H&M sweater; Forever 21 coat; Kelsi Dagger booties; Baublebar necklace; Ray-Ban sunglasses Friday marked the second day of my first New York Fashion Week, and it was definitely a bit busier than the first. I started off my morning drooling over each and every piece at the Rebecca Vallance preview. I want to live in the entire collection, and the styling, music, and overall vibe in the room were perfect. I then headed off to brunch with my Fashion Week partner in crime Naty before stopping by a few showrooms. Along with a few favorite blogger buddies, we toasted a beyond beautiful spring collection at French Connection, had way too many laughs with the Now + Zen girls, and played a little dress-up over at Bollare. I then checked out the leather and prints that made up the Charlotte Ronson preview and ended the night with cupcakes and champagne at a P&G Olympic Viewing party.
I kept warm throughout the day in this favorite faux fur coat that just so happens to be one of the better bargains that I've found. Each time someone commented on my coat, they were pretty shocked to find out it's from Forever 21. At around $40, this coat has definitely been worth every penny. All in all it was such an amazing (and slightly exhausting) day, and I can't wait to do it all over again today. xoxo Zara coat; Forever 21 sweater (similar), shorts (also love these!), sunglasses and necklace; Kelsi Dagger boots via Fatal Obsessions; H&M bag; vkoo gloves Yesterday kicked off the start of New York Fashion Week, and I must say, my first day did not disappoint. After a couple of cancelled flights, I finally made it to New York on a red-eye and hit the ground running. I started off the afternoon with a Jay Godfrey presentation and have now decided that too much leather is never enough. And sequins. Gotta have more sequins. I then headed to Desigual to take in prints and more prints and also to check out Candice Swanepoel strutting. Pretty girl, that one. I ended the day with the adorable and hilarious Now + Zen girls and the Desigual after-party. Not to shabby for the very first day of my very first fashion week! Can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of my trip. Happy Friday, everyone! xoxo So we're officially a week away from New York Fashion Week, and all I can think about is what I'll want to pack (and how in the world I'm going to fit it all in suitcases). The list goes on and on, but there's one thing I know for sure: you do NOT head off to NYFW looking like a schmoe. One way to stretch my packing space is to focus on dressed-up and classic basics like a great pair of black pants. Whether worn with an ivory blouse or a chunky sweater, they're a great mix-and-match staple. For this look, I'd add a bold coat, a seriously to-die-for mini bag, and statement silver accessories. Now, for the other 100 outfits I want to bring... xoxo Get the Look! 1. Edie Borgo Horus Ring $105 (On sale!)

It's been my home away from home for the last three days, and it's been an incredible little trip. Along with three other bloggers (Naty, Amy, and Katie), I had the amazing opportunity to shoot with Lucky Magazine and P&G for their New Voices of Beauty campaign, thanks to your votes! On Sunday we headed out to brunch with a couple of Lucky editors and then out in SOHO for a little shopping. We had such a great (and freezing!) day and weekend, and I can't wait to share the finished video with you guys in a few weeks. Today I'm headed home to California, but I can't wait to make it back in a few short days for Fashion Week. There really is something so special about this city. Thank you so much to Lucky Magazine and P&G for hosting us this weekend, and thank you all for your votes that made this little dream weekend possible. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
