H&M sweater (old); Rules of Etiquette shorts (c/o) Nordstrom (on sale!); Zara heels; Clutch (c/o) T.J.Maxx; Miriam Merenfeld necklace (c/o); Calvin Klein sunglasses; Gorjana rings; Michael Kors watch; Hand cuff via No Rest for Bridget; Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in Rich Ruby (c/o) Well, I'm definitely back in Southern California and back to single layers and shorts for now. These shorts (half off right now) are proving to be a little more a of a go-to than I originally thought, and the sweater is a definite favorite from last year. This is one of those five second outfits, and after a long week, there's nothing that sounds better to me. Statement jewelry and a bold red lip help spice things up a bit. And on a side note, what the hell is going on with my toddler hair here? There's some sort of mullet-esque situation happening, so if anyone knows a hair guru near me that specializes in children's hair (Just kidding. Sort of.), help a sister out. Thankfully it's the weekend, and I can go into hiding for a couple days. Anyone have any fun plans that I can live vicariously through? Happy Friday, everyone!

Trouve leggings; Aritzia cardigan and tee; Booties (c/o) T.J.Maxx; Gentle Fawn scarf (c/o); Melie Bianco "Carrie" bag (c/o); Thursday Friday fur keyring (c/o); Julie Vos necklaces and bracelet (c/o); Vita Fede stone ring; Ariella Collections cheetah ring (c/o) Nordstrom; Calvin Klein sunglasses Is there really anything better than a slightly oversized and fully delicious grandpa cardigan in the fall? Maybe to you, but to me? Nope. There are probably a thousand better ways to look pulled together and polished, but for a laidback day, it's the perfect topper for a simple tee and leather leggings. Statement jewels (like these current favorites from Julie Vos) dress the look up a little. Finish with an easy pair of wedge booties, and add a bit of color with a bold handbag and contrasting scarf. What are some of your go-to comfy pieces for fall?
xoxo P.S. - Use code FABB15 for 15% off site-wide at Julie Vos! Happy Shopping! Photos thanks to Alex Southwestern cape; Trouve sweater; Diesel leather shorts; Sam Edelman Luella boots; Nordstrom hat; Echo scarf (similar); Ray-Ban aviators Last week I got to attend my third Lucky FABB conference, and it was once again an amazing couple of days. If you haven't heard me ramble on about it in the past, FABB is Lucky Magazine's Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference, and it's pretty much like Christmas morning. (Well, if your Christmas morning involves one seriously stylish gathering with a couple hundred blogger buddies. No? Well anyway, it's one of my favorite "holidays".) I was so excited to catch up with a few favorites and came home with a couple of new friends this time around. Lucky FABB is such a place of constant inspiration for me, surrounded by so many amazing bloggers, brands, and editors that I both admire and love, and this season did not disappoint. My highlights from day one include an impromptu scarf tutorial from Eva Mendes, Topshop talk (and beyond) with Kate Bosworth, aNintendo-inspired mani that was definitely out of my comfort zone, and, of course, lots of laughing and a little cocktailing with the girls.
After planning and replanning my outfits and over-packing just a smidge, I went with a Southwestern-inspired look based aroundthese leather shorts for day one. Oh, and thanks to the lovely ladies at Raika Studio - we got to stop by the night before FABB for cocktails and dry styling, and with the right Paul Mitchell hair spray and dry shampoo, my beach waves were perfect for the next day. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo Today I'm so excited to round up a few more fall must-haves from VAULT and share them with you here and over on their blog where you can check out my picks as well as those of their other fabulous contributors. If there's one thing to invest in for your fall and winter wardrobes, it's definitely a quality outerwear piece, and while this leather stunner from IRO is definitely a splurge, VAULT offers several great options to keep you warm and stylish this winter. (For a hard-working, goes-with-everything pick, I love this grey leather jacket by Latitude Supply Co. for under $200.) The leader of the outerwear pack, a leather jacket is a true wardrobe staple that comes in especially handy on those days when you change clothes five times and create a closet disaster before leaving the house. I actually haven't had a leather jacket for a few seasons and just picked one up this fall. On the not-so-rare jeans and tee days lately, a leather jacket is a nice alternative to throwing on an oversized sweater. It'll take your look from just rolled out of bed to somewhat pulled together, instantly. For the look above, I love how the edgy and oh-so-luxe leather jacket pairs with a sweet and simple tunic and over-the-knee boots. I've searched for a couple of months now for a great pair of over-the-knee boots that are simple, well-made, and affordable, and this flat version from World Footwear Group (available in black or brown) is about the most insane steal I've seen. (They're right around $50. Bananas.) They're on their way to me now, and I can't wait to wear them...everywhere. I'm a serious scarf lover, so this cozy little snood was a no-brainer addition. Along with the leather clutch and blue mirrored sunnies, I love that it adds a bit of color to an otherwise drab look. An eclectic mix of silver and black jewelry completes the look. For these pieces and TONS of other great finds, head over to VAULT to browse their handpicked selection of fantastic designers. My picks? Check out a few of my faves here. Hope everyone had a great weekend! xoxo Get the Look! 1. Westward Leaning Color Revolution Shades $180 2. Luv AJ Shark Tooth Hand Piece $77 3. Donni Charm Snug $118 4. Essex Los Angeles Louie Clutch $150 5. Luv AJ Large Shark Tooth Ring $53 6. IRO Ashville Leather Jacket $803 (Total splurge, but also love this affordable version) 7. Piper Gore Alyssa Tunic Dress $46 8. Botticelli's Niece Tassel Necklace $65 9. Luv AJ Prism Ring $30 10. World Footwear Group Over-the-Knee Boots $50 (Total steal!) Blouse, Sweater, Tights, Bag and Booties (c/o) T.J.Maxx I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it! With fall, that is. It may help that I've spent the last few days in New York bundled up like an October Eskimo, but I'm finally getting into the swing of things with a bit of chill in the air. Of all the fall looks I've done so far for T.J.Maxx (See: 1 Look, 3 Ways; Fall Trend: Leather; and Mixed Prints / Mixed Media), this week's layering challenge is definitely my favorite. There's really nothing better about fall dressing than layers and layers and layers. While layers done right are one of my favorite fall looks, no one wants to look like the Michelin Man waddling through the cold, so proportions and fabrics are key. My look started when I found this seriously cozy cashmere sweater dress (slash tunic). (Side note: It's a little short, but with super opaque tights, it's just long enough. It'll also be great with leather leggings this season.) The fabric is lush and amazing, and I love that's it's light grey, a pretty unexpected color in my fall wardrobe. A lightweight blouse added a little something to the neckline without adding an extra layer of bulk, and I love the gold chain necklace tucked under the collar. I added a bit of color to the look with this Southwestern-style cape. Fully layered up top, I figured I should probably get some bottoms. I've never been much of a tights girl (can we say pain in the...), but when I saw these "fleece-lined" tights, I had to try them out. I am now a total convert. These are the most comfortable (and warm!) tights that I've ever tried, and they stay up without my pulling on them a hundred times a day. (Not a good look I've decided.) They're super opaque, which I love, and ultra affordable, so I'm thinking I'll be back for more pairs before winter. Finally, I rounded out the look with comfy black booties (super T.J.Maxx score) and a favorite black hat that definitely made the trip with me to New York. (Bad hair day? Problem solved.) I of course rounded out the shopping day with a loop through the beauty department and had a rare sighting of one of my favorite perfumes for a seriously sweet deal. No brainer there, yes ma'am I'll take it. (And T.J.Maxx gets me again.) I've had a blast scooping up this year's fall trends with T.J.Maxx, and I'm so sad that it's coming to an end. Question is, have you checked out T.J.Maxx lately? xoxo Expressing yourself through fashion, and knowing how to put together a great look—at great value, is what being a Maxxinista is all about. At T.J.Maxx you can score the unexpected to make your own personal style statement. Here’s to rockin’ your real deal. Compensation was provided by T.J.Maxx via Glam Media. LOFT jeans and flats; Forever 21 tee; jacket via T.J.Maxx; Urban Outfitters scarf; Nordstrom sunglasses (similar); Louis Vuitton Verona bag I suppose it's casual Tuesdays here on the blog. It's the start of a great week for me. I'm heading out to New York tomorrow for Lucky FABB (Fashion and Beauty Bloggers' Conference), and it's seriously like Christmas to me. I'm so excited to be back in New York and reunited with a few favorite fellow bloggers. But before that, there's loose ends to tie and oh-so-much packing to be done. It's the sort of start to the week that requires something comfy and cozy, like an easy jeans and tee combo. A leather trimmed jacket like this one (last seen here) adds a little bit of an "I care" aspect, and a favorite scarf is perfect for a chilly evening. I'm excited to share this season's #LuckyFABB adventure, so I hope you're following along on Instagram and Twitter. Hope everyone is having a great week!
xoxo It's no secret that I've got a bit of a shopping habit (Blame it on the job), and I'm constantly on the hunt for new stores and brands to explore. I can get into a little rut from time to time, and it feels like all of my favorite shops and sites are offering the same old, same old. It's always nice to find a great new site to shop and even nicer to work with one, so I'm pretty excited to partner with VAULT for the next couple of months. If you haven't already checked it out, I'd definitely recommend a scroll through VAULT and its expertly curated selection. The site features a TON of brands and designers (seriously, a ton) and offers a great mix of price points and styles. There are old favorites of mine like Black Orchid Denim, Gorjana, Hayden-Harnett, and Westward Leaning, and I've discovered a few new (new to me at least) brands just by browsing the site. I'm loving the perfectly simple designs of Lisa Stewart Studio, the luxe-looking scarves from Donni Charm, the fun and affordable swim coverups by Yuka Beach (Resort fashion, anyone?), and pretty much everything from In My Air. The clothing sucked me in, but the accessories and extras are really the addictive cherry on top. I've rounded up a few favorites below, but the list could really go on and on. I'm a sucker for good jewelry, and VAULT has a great eclectic mix. (The Love ring below is currently at the top of my list. Followed by the chain wrap bracelet - such a keeper.) A Few Favorite Extras: 1. Porter Lyons Street Car Wrap Bracelet $165 2. Blee Inara 22K Plated Love Ring $95 3. Jewelry For A Cause In Gratitude Beaded Necklace $60 4. George & Laurel Theodore Ring $80 5. Leslie Tessler Titan Cape $385 6. B-Low the Belt Leopard Belt $63 7. Karma Inspirations Leopard Flats $64 8. Dharma Bombay Aviator Sunglasses $99 9. Skywatch Black and Yellow Gold Watch $295 10. Essex Los Angeles Louie Clutch $150 11. Hortensia Rosario Scarf $185 The site is clean and easy to navigate and has seriously good finds for women, men, babies, and home. (Speaking of home, how good are these City Map Quilts by Haptic Lab? Such a unique idea.) There's an option to search each section by price point, so you can start checking off gifts from this year's holiday list. (Every year I tell myself I'm going to start my holiday shopping early, and this year, I just may do it. Maybe.) Whether you're on the hunt for something in particular or are just looking for a few new favorite brands, VAULT can definitely occupy a few hours of your day if you let it. What are some of your favorite finds from the site? xoxo Disclosure: This post is sponsored by VAULT, but all opinions are my own.
True Religion shirt (c/o); AG boyfriend jeans (c/o); jacket (c/o) T.J.Maxx;, Madewell booties; Ray-Ban sunglasses This leather jacket was such a sweet find at T.J.Maxx recently, and I can't help but throw it on with just about everything. I love how it adds a little something interesting to easy boyfriend jeans and a laidback plaid. Finished with a pair of classic leather booties, this outfit is my ideal weekend wear and a comfortable fall uniform. Which pieces are currently on replay in your wardrobe? Happy Friday, everyone!
xoxo I've had an obsession with makeup and all things beauty since high school, but experimenting with colors is something I've recently started trying. My grandma was an "Avon lady" back in the day (and I hear she was your go-to gal for all your makeup needs), so I'm really excited to team up with the iconic brand to check out The New Collection, their latest line of makeup that is filled with bold colors that pop (and last!). Avon's promise? The New Collection will help you achieve a fresh, ready to wear look that won't fade over time in under five minutes. Hands-down my favorite product in the mix is the Ultra Color Lipstick in Rich Ruby. The bold red makes such a strong statement, and the color lasted all day. While I usually stick with golds and browns for shadow and liner, I really love how this purple palette makes blue eyes pop. I used shade 1 as a highlighter, shades 2 and 3 on my lids, and lined my eyes with shade 4. The mascara applicator is definitely unlike any I've seen, but works really well. It bends to whatever angle you'd like, and I applied with sort of a paintbrush motion. My lashes were separated, lengthened, and just like I like 'em. The gloss is an easy product to throw in your bag and use anytime you could use a little midday pick-me-up. Overall I really loved all the products that I tried and had to choose a colorful outfit to match. Playing with bold colors in makeup adds a whole new dimension to getting dressed and rocking fall trends, and I think my grandma would be proud of the Avon of today. xoxo We make it easy, you make it beautiful. “Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Avon via Glam Media. I've never been much of a blazer kind of girl, but this year I've completely changed my mind and am borderline obsessed. I picked up this jacket from H&M when it was still way too hot to bring it out, and I'm so glad that I can finally wear it. It works just as well with skinny jeans and a simple top as it does with a neutral mini dress and it definitely adds a bit of interest to an otherwise bland outfit. Sleek heels, a bold clutch, and a few jewels completed the look. Hope everyone is having a great week!
