From dresses and tops to handbags and heels, I'm loving the preppy meets grunge feel of plaid pieces, and this dress from Lulu's is so great for transitioning into the new season. I wore it to last Saturday's RewardStyle party during NYFW, and it was the perfect mini for an afternoon party. Black booties, a leather jacket, and statement jewelry helped complete the look. If you're looking to add a little plaid into your fall wardrobe, look no further than Lulu's for some seriously chic options. Happy shopping, and happy Friday, everyone! xoxo

Photos thanks to Zack Seckler and T.J.Maxx/Marshalls Sweatshirt, skirt, heels, bag all (c/o) T.J.Maxx New York Fashion Week can definitely be one of the most challenging trips for me when it comes to packing. There's the "I have nothing to wear" meltdown followed by the "holy crap I need to go shopping" epiphany. In an effort to look pulled together and on-trend without completely breaking the bank, I definitely make it a priority to check out Marshalls and T.J.Maxx a few times in the weeks leading up to the trip. It's amazing how many quality wardrobe staples and trendy extras you can find. I've always found great looks at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls, but lately, they've stepped it way up. (I'm talking designer dresses and handbag heaven.) For this past NYFW, I first found these shoes and knew I wanted to find a look that was sporty for fall. I thought the sweatshirt was so fun, and this skirt is one of those pieces that I'll have forever. The bag was the final piece of the puzzle, and I added in my own jewelry to personalize it. A big thanks to T.J.Maxx and Marshalls for one of my favorite looks this #NYFW. What are some of your favorite fab finds? xoxo Disclosure: “This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, InStyle, Vogue and Elle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #inspirefallfashion http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV” Photos thanks to Kaela Rodehorst Photography H&M sweater, shorts, scarf; Lulu's heels; Rebecca Minkoff bag; Forever 21 sunglasses; La Mer Collections watch The weather outside may not quite agree, but I am so ready for fall fashion and all of its trends. At the start of every fall, I can't wait for the September issues to come out, and this year's did not disappoint. I stocked up on magazines at Target, and today I'm working with Pollinate Media to create an outfit inspired by one of my favorite September issues, Vogue. One of the key trends they highlighted for fall is "Orange Is the New Black," and I couldn't be more excited. Orange is such a warm color for fall, and I love the slouchy, cozy feeling of this oversized sweater paired with lace-trimmed shorts, a patterned scarf, and heels. Now I'm on the hunt for more orange pieces for fall (exaggerated wide leg pants perhaps?) and can't wait to wear this sweater so many different ways.
If you haven't checked out this year's September issues yet, don't miss out! Now through September 13th, head over to Target - when you buy 2 or more fall fashion magazines (InStyle, Vogue, and/or Elle), you'll get a $5 Target gift card. (And what's not to love about that?) xoxo New York Fashion Week is definitely a time when you want to look your best and possibly stand out among a sea of fashionable women, so when Aloxxi invited me create a "head-turning look" with fresh locks, I jumped at the chance. Like many blondes, I've been highlighting my hair for years, but I still have trouble communicating what I really want with a stylist. Whenever I want a change, I always bring in pictures and have an idea in my head of what look I'm going for, but a stylist will usually tell me I'm all over the place. So, armed with no clue what I wanted, yesterday I headed over to the Devachan Salon in SOHO and met with the amazing Aloxxi Artistic Advisor Marilyn. She totally put me at ease with a full consultation complete with photos and hair swatches of what I could expect. Aloxxi has created what they call Color Personalities, an idea that's really pretty genius, and it turns out my personality is "Blonde Bambino." With over 100 color personalities to choose from, the overall end results (created by professional hairdressers) will change how you define your hair color into fun, memorable personalities, instead of something you find hard to put into words. After yesterday's Blonde Bambino transformation, my hair felt soft, healthy, and manageable, and there was definitely a little bounce in my step. I left the salon feeling ready to take on my first day of NYFW (and maybe even turn a head or two). xoxo The Before and After: Photos thanks to Kaela Rodehorst Photography Nordstrom shirtdress (similar); JustFab booties (c/o); Rebecca Minkoff bag; C.Wonder sunglasses; Forever 21 necklace and bracelets; La Mer Collections watch Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Aloxxi and Lucky Magazine, but all opinions are 100% my own. Sadly, friends, it seems that summer is coming to a close. Now, don't get me wrong: I'm pretty excited for cooler days and, above all else, fall fashion, but there's always a sadness that comes with saying goodbye to sandy toes and salty hair. Just in time to cure my summertime sadness, Gatehouse Home and Sevi Towel sent over the most beautiful beachy care package in celebration of Jo Malone's brand new fragrance "Wood Sage & Sea Salt" that launches on September 6th. I'm loving the hand-loomed Turkish towel from Sevi. It's so beautifully made and can be used as a scarf, towel, beach blanket, lightweight throw, or in so many other ways. (It's currently in use as my airplane blanket as I head to New York for Fashion Week.) The shell-embellished bottle from Gatehouse adds the perfect vintage beach vibe to our dresser, and I love how it pairs with my antique mirrored tray. And as for the fragrance, the scent is amazing - like a grownup, woodsy-beachy hybrid that's warm and seasonless. (I now have my eye on the luxe candle version.) It's the perfect combination of beach meets the mountains and is my new fall go-to. And if you're in the Orange County area, Jo Malone is hosting a launch party in the South Coast Plaza store on Saturday, September 6th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Head into the store to check out the new fragrance for yourself and #bringthecoasthome. xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Karlie romper (c/o) Chantilly Dallas; Kate Spade Saturday bag (similar); Kelsi Dagger booties via Fatal Obsessions; Bull Necklace (c/o) Chantilly Dallas; Scala hat; Persol sunglasses (similar); Boera ring This week I've got fall fashion on the brain as I prepare to head to New York for Fashion Week, but at home in Newport Beach, things are still very summery. This romper arrived in the middle of a heatwave, and I couldn't have been more excited. It's the perfect little lightweight, throw-on-and-go piece that will get you through the hottest days, and paired with a cardigan, it's ideal for cool nights. Bohemian accessories finished the look. Hope everyone's short week is off to a great start!
xoxo Well it's Labor Day, and you know what that means: sales, people, sales. And they're good, real good. While tons of sites are celebrating Labor Day with some pretty sweet discounts, my trigger-happy online ordering finger just can't handle the goodness on sale right now at Nordstrom. (And as always, free shipping and free returns can't hurt.) Click through above for a few favorites up to 50% off. If the Nordstrom finds don't tickle your fancy, check out these other great sales from a few of my favorite brands below. Happy shopping and happy Labor Day, everyone! xoxo
Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Riller & Fount tunic (similar); Forever 21 shorts and clutch; horn necklace (c/o) Chantilly Dallas; Calvin Klein sunglasses The "dog days of summer" may be technically over, but it's still pretty scorching most days around here. On those days the only thing that matters when getting dressed is beating the heat, and this look does it pretty well. The oversized tunic from Riller & Fount is so lightweight and airy, and paired with these easy embroidered shorts, it's a heat wave no-brainer. Flat sandals and layered jewelry tie it all together. Hope everyone has an amazing Labor Day weekend!
xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Talulah Dress (c/o); JustFab sandals (c/o); Rovi Moss handbag (c/o); ASOS sunglasses; Karen London cuff; Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Showy Over the past couple years, it's been hard not to notice that the Australian designers and brands are killing it in the style department. (Seriously, remember this Rebecca Valance collection from February's NYFW? Still drooling over these.) I recently discovered TALULAH, and it's no exception to that rule. The collections are filled with adorable day dresses, easy shorts, and perfect-for-a-night-out looks. There's a definite island vibe going on in the flowy fabrics and standout prints, and the cuts have such a sultry feel. I loved the dressed-up or down appeal of this maxi above, and the chevron pattern of the sequins is so fun. Paired with gladiator sandals and a bold handbag, it's a great alternative to that LBD to soak up these last days of summer. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo In the summertime, I'm such a sucker for anything lightweight and flowy, particularly things that pair well with a swimsuit, and this Theodora & Callum caftan is right up my alley. As creators of some of my favorite scarves, Theodora & Callum has the easy breezy thing down, but their bold colors and prints are what I love the most. They really do make such a statement, and I know this caftan will be a definite go-to during so many weekends (and summers) to come. Hope everyone had a great weekend! xoxo |
